President Donald Trump once again showcased his master level trolling skills after his speech at a rally in North Carolina was interrupted by a female heckler. And, of course, left-wing media is attempting to spin the narrative to make the president look misogynistic and delusional for the comments he made while the woman was being escorted out of the event.
The rally was held in Gastonia, North Carolina. President Trump was a featured speaker there to show support for Senate Republican candidate Michael Whatley. About five minutes into his speech, the crowd exploded into boos. At first, Trump asked the crowd, “What do you have — a bad guy or a good guy over there?”
He then asked the audience, “Show it to me. Show him. Let me see his face.” Local law enforcement officers restrained the heckler and then escorted her from the rally, according to media reports and video captured of the incident. First believing the heckler to be a man, President Trump shifted his tone a bit when he found out it was actually a woman.
“Oh — oh, it’s a ‘she.’ Hello!” Trump said. The president then started joking about how the woman’s mother was probably MAGA and would be ashamed of her daughter making a spectacle of herself at the rally. Again, this was clearly a joke, but The Daily Beast tried to twist the comment into something weird to fit their leftist slant.
“She’s going home to mama—who’s watching right now. Her mother is watching right now on television, furious at the daughter,” Trump said. He continued, “She’s going to walk, and she’s gonna get the hell… spoken out of her—I won’t say…” the president said, trailing off while chuckling. It’s not the first time Trump has used the bit to poke fun at radical left-wing protesters interrupting his events.
He made similar remarks while getting heckled at a rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in August 2026. It was a gag he also utilized during his very first campaign for the presidency in 2016. The Daily Beast, which clearly doesn’t get the humor, responded to the funny moment by citing 2024 election data to prove that mothers aren’t big fans of the president, having supported former Vice President Kamala Harris over him.
Polls for the state’s Senate race currently show Whatley is trailing behind his Democratic opponent, former Gov. Roy Cooper by 11 percentage points. Most of the comments on the video clip of President Trump’s comments were supportive of his sense of humor. “He don’t give a rip! He’s hilarious!” one user wrote on Facebook.

“I was there and saw and heard it live. He is hilarious. He lets nothing rattle him. I met a lady who drove 11 hours to get there and stood in line since 9:00 AM and the gates did not even open until 3:00 PM! She did not mind at all and was excited to be there,” another user said. Someone else wrote, “He cracks me up! Says it like it is!!!”
