WATCH: Trump Isn’t Backing Down on Mass Deportations

Appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt explained President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, noting that he is not backing away from mass deportations, regardless of the leftist hysterics surrounding the ongoing operations in Minnesota.

As background, two alleged leftist agitators have been shot and killed by immigration authorities when allegedly putting the lives of those agents in danger. The first was Renee Good, who was shot when she allegedly accelerated her car toward an ICE agent. The second was Alex Pretti, whose handgun appears to have gone off when he got in a scuffle with Border Patrol agents, who then shot him.

The left and the RINOs have responded to both incidents not by backing the federal immigration agents whose lives were put in danger, but by demanding that ICE and Border Patrol back off, that the operations be slowed, and that the use of force be prevented in the future. Leavitt said that’s not happening when she spoke to Bartiromo.

The conversation began with Bartiromo asking, “Do you expect new restrictions on Border Patrol? Karoline, what can you tell us in terms of the results here as a result of the fact that two people are dead, even though the president is trying to weed out criminality in this country, and you’ve seen this resistance?”

Responding, Leavitt first explained that the president is willing to listen to complaints, though he stands firmly by the mission. She said, “Well, the White House and the president are open and willing to listen. I know the president said aboard Air Force One last night that those conversations and discussions will continue.”

Giving an example, but noting that the leftist Democrat leadership had made it impossible in practice, she said, “Last week, the White House invited moderate Democrat senators to come to the white House and to discuss their concerns so that we could hear them out and at least see what they are trying to put on the table. Unfortunately, that meeting was blocked by their leadership.”

Adding to that once more, she noted that President Trump is willing to listen to criticisms and think about policy changes, if necessary. She said, “So these conversations will continue to, Maria. And ultimately, the president will be the decider on any policy changes.”

However, she concluded, while he is willing to listen, he is not willing to back down, and he is determined to ensure that those he vowed will be deported are, in fact, deported. She said, “But what I know in talking with the president and seeing what this administration has done over the course of the last year, is that President Trump is never going to waver in the commitment that he made to the nearly 80 million Americans who voted for him to deport illegal alien criminals, who broke our nation’s laws to get here, and then have committed further crimes of violence against American citizens.”
