In a hilarious moment captured on social media, President Trump epically roasted a reporter while defending his decision to send in the National Guard into Washington, DC, in order to combat a rising tide of violent crime.
While the decision has resulted in vastly fewer crimes and safer streets, liberals have used the opportunity to cynically advance their own political goals by casting the mobilization as an unconstitutional overreach. As part of this trend, many woke ideologues have lost their minds in a series of highly publicized meltdowns.
In any case, the president responded to the disrespectful journalist with a typically witty answer. He quipped, “Darling, that’s fake news. Listen, be quiet. Listen, you don’t listen. You never listen. That’s why you’re second grade. We’re not going to war. We’re going to clean up our cities. We’re going to clean them up so they don’t kill five people every weekend. That’s not war. That’s common sense.”
As we reported, President Trump has pointed out the overwhelming success of his Washington, D.C., crime crackdown. He has described he city as a “crime-free zone” due to the deployment of National Guard troops and federal agents.
Speaking to The Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese, the president noted the success of the operation, saying, “So it turned out, it was amazing, because we’re a crime-free zone now. I mean, you see what’s going on? There’s no crime. People are walking to restaurants. They’re free. It’s almost like we just freed the whole Washington D.C.”
Building on this point, he emphasized how quickly these encouraging results were achieved. Trump noted, “[It] went faster than I thought. I mean, I knew we’re going to do it, but it went faster than I thought. We have tremendous soldiers that go in there and do it, and they’re strong. They love America.”
Still not done, the president added, “The Other Side only appreciates strong, you understand, and they’ve done a great job, much, probably a little bit quicker, much quicker, in a certain sense, than we thought we’re going to be doing it, but it’s complete. It’s amazing.”

Concluding his comments, the president presented the evidence of his success. He noted, “Now, in two weeks, it’s going to be even better. I’m calling it, it’s a crime free zone now. People are going to restaurants that haven’t gone out in four years. They didn’t even want to go in their car because they get the you know, they have..you see, the carjacking is down 87%.”

However, woke ideologues, such as Eleanor Holmes Norton, Washington, D.C.’s non-voting delegate, have harshly criticized the anti-crime crackdown. The aging politician said, “These types of remarks are attempts to remove what small measure of democracy the more than 700,000 D.C. residents, a majority of whom are Black and Brown, have. He deployed more than 2,000 National Guard troops, put guns in their hands, and sent masked ICE officers to forcibly take community members from our streets.”
