Former New Jersey Governor and 2024 Presidential Candidate hopeful Chris Christie has been making his 2024 candidacy campaign all about how much he hates Trump, going on the attack against him whenever there is an opportunity to do so, and even some times when the opportunity was not there. He got his comeuppance for that on the debate stage last night when he got humiliated by the crowd, which nearly booed him off the stage.
That moment came when the eight on-stage candidates were asked if they would still support former President Donald Trump as the nominee if he was elected by the voters but also “convicted in a court of law.” Vivek Ramaswamy, who seems to be angling for the Vice President role for Trump, was the first to raise his hand, shooting it up.
The others then slowly followed Vivek’s lead, with all but Asa Hutchinson and Chris Christie eventually raising their hands. Hutchinson kept his down for good, but Christie appeared to raise his hand, then started wagging his finger.
Asked to explain, Christie said, “Here’s the bottom line: someone’s got to stop normalizing this conduct, okay? Now — and now whether or not you believe that the criminal charges are right or wrong, the conduct is beneath the office of president of the United States.”
That started a cacophony of booing, to which Christ Christie responded by saying, “This is the great thing about this country. Booing is allowed, but it doesn’t change the truth.” Vivek stepped in and blasted Christie for going along with the party in power indicting its political opponents and the “politicization of justice in this country.” Christie snapped back, “You make me laugh,” and the crowd responded with another cacophony of booing.
Bret Baier, the moderator, was tired of the crowd booing Christie and told them to stop, but the message was clear: Christie and his pro-regime, anti-Trump positions were not popular with even the relatively tame GOP voters Fox News let appear for the debate.

Asa Hutchinson got humiliated by booing and jeers from the crowd as well, as it did not take kindly to his suggestion that Trump was disqualified from running for president because of the January 6th protest and the 14th amendment.
That came when Gov. Hutchinson said, “Over a year ago, I said that Donald Trump was morally disqualified from being president again as a result of what happened on January 6” and then proceeded to get flattened by a wall of booing.
Hutchinson is the RINO former governor who vetoed a bill that prohibited “gender affirming care” for young people, making him an obviously loser with the GOP base and a clown for attempting to run for president. Chris Christie is the former governor of New Jersey who shut down lanes on a crowded bridge to punish his political enemies in New Jersey by making their commutes awful. So, far from being the venerable titans of decency, the two have dark histories that bely their claims to be on the moral high ground above Trump.
