WATCH: Trump Has Hilarious Reaction When Told He’d Have to See Biden at Pope Francis’s Funeral

While speaking to reporters on Air Force One, President Trump expressed his disdain about talking to Joe Biden at the funeral of Pope Francis. During his remarks, Trump said that Biden was “not high on my list” of priorities while at the highly publicized event.

For context, Pope Francis’ health has been declining for months, with rumors swirling about his condition as he went in and out of the hospital for pneumonia complications. Shortly after the Pontiff met with Vice President JD Vance on Easter Sunday, the Vatican announced his passing, and world leaders flocked to the high-profile funeral.

Starting off the April 26, 2025, remarks, Trump asked the gathered crowd of reporters, “Alright, everybody. We have a long flight today. We’re going for a good reason. Do you have any questions?” Piping up, one journalist asked, “You said you were going to be meeting with some leaders while you were in Rome…Who are you meeting with?”

Responding to the reporter, Trump said that the primary purpose of the visit was to mourn the passing of the Pope, but that he would also conduct diplomacy. He replied, “And a little bit quickly, and frankly, it’s a little disrespectful to have meetings while you’re at the funeral of the Pope. So I’ll be seeing people, I’ll be talking to people, including the prime minister of Italy.”

Fireing back, the reporter asked, “Any plans to see former President Biden?” When Trump gave a terse reply, the journalist continued, “Former President Biden, any plans to talk with him? He’s going to be there.” Responding with a hilarious dismissal, Trump replied, “I didn’t know that. I mean, it’s not high on my list. It’s really not.”

After the Pope’s abrupt passing, many prominent Trump officials posted their condolences on social media. As we reported, Vice President JD Vance said, “I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis. My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him.”

Continuing his respectful reaction, Vance declared, “I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill. But I’ll always remember him for the below homily he gave in the very early days of COVID. It was really quite beautiful. May God rest his soul.”

President Donald Trump ordered that all flags be flown at half-mast as a sign of respect for the controversial pope during his statement. He proclaimed, “As a mark of respect for the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America.”

Concluding his proclamation, Trimp declared, “I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, on the day of interment.”
