When speaking at the Waukesha County Expo Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on May 1, former President Donald Trump addressed a heckler in the crowd with an awesome one-line response that put the heckler in his place and got the already excited crowd even more wound up, as it started chanting “USA!” after Trump obliterated the protester.
The incident came as former President Trump spoke to the crowd about the ability of police officers around the country to maintain the peace at universities as pro-Palestine protests sweep the country, sometimes leading to lawless activity like violent clashes or student occupation of private property like school lawns and libraries.
Trump said, speaking of police clearing Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall of protesters, “But they did an incredible job. They went into one of the big buildings, a beautiful landmark building. Boy, it got the hell beat out of it last night. You know you’re supposed to take care of those buildings. It took a beating. But the police came in and in exactly two hours everything was over. It was a beautiful thing to watch. New York’s finest.”
The protester then began to yell at Trump, though it was unclear whether the protester was simply angry at Trump for being Trump or if the former President’s remark that it was “beautiful” to watch the police lock up the pro-Palestine demonstrators. But, regardless of cause, the protester then started yelling at Trump, causing a commotion.
The crowd immediately started responding to the protester who was screaming at Trump. It started chanting “USA! USA!” Trump then joined in as well, asking the crowd, “Where did he come from?” Trump then thanked his supporters and addressed the protester, saying, “Go home to mom, right? Go home to your mom.”
That’s when Trump broke out his characteristic humor and joke-telling ability, saying, “Say hello to mother. Oh, she’s gonna be angry. Because she’s watching right now on television. She’s watching on television. She’s saying, ‘That’s my son.’” Trump then joked that the media would report that the protester incident was a “pandemonium” even though it was just one person.

During the rally, Trump also called out President Biden for being out of the news as the protests rage, saying, “Biden’s nowhere to be found. He hasn’t said anything. When you have a problem like that you should go out and talk about it and talk to the people. But there’s a big problem, there’s a big fever in our country, and he’s not talking. But if he did, it wouldn’t matter.”
Trump also called on college and university presidents around the country to stand up to the protesters that have taken over areas of campus, saying, “To every college president, I say remove the encampments immediately, vanquish the radicals and take back our campuses for all of the normal students who want a safe place from which to learn.” That was no surprise, as Trump has called the numerous protests a “disgrace.”
