During a town hall event with Fox News, former president Donald Trump addressed the endorsement he has received from many members of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s family.  The Republican presidential candidate made a heartwarming remark, complimenting the family who opposed their relative running mate of Vice President Kamala Harris.

The host of the event, Fox News host Sean Hannity, was commenting on Walz’s rhetoric before Trump interrupted him, bringing up the support he has attained from within the Democratic governor’s family.  Hannity said, “Walz wants free college education, legal driver’s licenses…” before Trump interjected, “I was so honored today, his brother endorsed me!”

The former president added, “And his whole family, saw the picture.”  Trump was referencing a picture shared by eight relatives of Walz, wearing T-shirts that read, “Nebraska Walz’s for Trump,” while posing in front of a “Take America Back” Trump 2024 flag.  He continued complimenting the family, stating, “And honestly, it was a very nice-looking family,

Trump suggested that there was “something weird” about Walz, considering that many of his family members publicly oppose his vice presidential bid. “But his brother endorsed me and the whole family, endorsed me I said, there’s something… Something weird with that guy. He’s a weird guy,” he said, as the crowd cheered on his statement.

The American Tribune recently reported on the Trump-supporting members of Walz’s family, who explained their opposition to the Harris-Walz campaign.  “We’ve just become a third-world banana republic,” one member of the family said.  Reportedly, Jeff Walz, 67, the brother of Tim Walz was encouraged to “have a talk with his brother,” but he explained that he had not spoken to him “in 8 years.”  Jeff claimed, “Haven’t spoke to him in 8 years,” adding “I’m opposed to all his ideology. My family wasn’t given any notice [that] he was selected and denied security the days after.”

Furthermore, some have urged Jeff to “help MAGA” and to “Get on stage with President Trump and endorse him.”  Jeff responded, “I’ve thought hard about doing something like that. I’m torn between that and just keeping my family out of it. The stories I could tell. Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.”

The Tribune also reported on other critical commentary toward Tim Walz, where veterans who knew the Minnesota Governor labeled him a “military impersonator,” over accusations that he had lied about his military service.  They suggested he was also a “habitual liar,” known to embellish the facts for personal gain.

“He’s a habitual liar, he lies about everything. He lies about stuff that doesn’t make sense,” one of the men said. “You’re taking a piece of their thunder, and you’re trying to capture it and put it in a bottle for yourself, and use that for your own benefit,” another veteran said, describing the character of Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.
