WATCH: Trump Admin Says FBI Leaker Has Been Caught Aiding Violent Illegal Immigrant Gang, Will Face Serious Prosecution

United States Attorney General Pam Bondi and Trump administration border czar Tom Homan recently confirmed that the FBI leaker accused of aiding and tipping off the violent, illegal immigrant gang Tren de Aragua would be held accountable.  Bondi recently appeared on Fox News, explaining that the individual within the agency would face serious prosecution.

As background, Tom Homan recently indicated that an employee within the FBI had been caught tipping off the Venezuelan gang.  He explained that if the employee is found guilty of the alleged crime, they will lose their job and pension and face jail time.  Bondi weighed in on the issue, slamming the alleged leaker for jeopardizing public safety.

During a separate interview with Host Sean Hannity asked Homan, “Where are these leaks coming from?” The border czar responded, “We think it’s coming from inside. Some of the information we’re receiving tends to lead toward the FBI.  But I talked to the Deputy Attorney General all this weekend. They’ve opened up a criminal investigation, and they have promised that not only this person lose their job and lose their pension, they will go to jail, they’re going to criminally prosecute.”

Speaking to Fox News on the heels of Homan’s remarks, Bondi explained that any leakers will be held accountable. “I can’t talk about anything ongoing, of course, but what I will say and to explain to you and the American people why this is so wrong and so illegal,” she said. “Anytime you leak anything about a pending investigation, what do you do? You jeopardize the lives of our men and women in law enforcement who are going in there to make these arrests.”

Bondi further asserted that enforcing the law is treacherous enough and leaking information only makes it more dangerous. “It’s dangerous enough making these arrests, yet when you leak it and give criminals a heads up that they are coming, it could jeopardize lives, and that is illegal, and we will not tolerate it in the FBI, in any department within the United States government,” she continued.

Homan further told Sean Hannity, “We know the first leak in Aurora is under current investigation. We think we’ve identified that person under investigation. Right now, the California leak, Secretary Noem, she’s correct – some of the information we’re receiving tends to lead toward the FBI.”

In recent months, Homan has aggressively maintained that the United States immigration laws will be upheld with no exceptions.  As part of this, he has continually maintained that he will hold anyone accountable who tries to subvert the Trump administration’s deportation agenda, including Democratic politicians.

The American Tribune recently reported on Homan addressing claims from Democratic New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy who claimed he was housing an illegal immigrant, shielding them from deportation.  “I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there’s someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to and we said, ‘You know what, let’s have her live at our house above our garage,'” he said. “And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her.”

In response, Homan said, “I think the Governor is pretty foolish saying what he said.”  He added, “Because I got note of it, won’t let it go, we’ll look into it. And if he’s knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien, that’s a violation of Title 8 of the United States Code 1324.”  Watch Homan discuss Gov. Murphy below:
