In the wake of infighting in Congress about who can use which restrooms, with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) leading the charge on limiting the access to women’s restrooms, something Speaker of the House Mike Johnson agreed to in a statement, a transgender activist named Jay appeared to issue threats about such bathroom restrictions.
The threatening video was posted by Jay to TikTok originally. The Libs of TikTok account then found the video and posted it to X (formerly Twitter), captioning it, in part, by saying, “Trans activist calls on LGBTQ people to get guns to threaten anyone who doesn’t let men in women’s bathrooms.”
In the video clip that the Libs of TikTok account posted to X, Jay began by saying that the bathroom restrictionists would be making their last mistake ever with such a policy, saying, “I dare you to try and stop a transgender woman in my presence from using the bathroom. It will be the last mistake you ever make.”
Continuing, Jay said that the matter is both a “call to action” and also a “call to arms,” adding to the threatening overtones of the statement. Jay said, “This is a call to action and a call to arms to everybody within the United States that are scared, worried, have children that are transgender, lesbian, bi or gay. This is a call to action.”
Focusing further on the “call to arms” aspect of the video clip, Jay called on those with similar sentiments to not only purchase arms, but learn how to use them, because “the time to act is now.” Jay said, “You need to arm up. Plain and simple. Go out, buy a gun, learn how to use it efficiently through and through. Because the time to act is now.”
Jay wasn’t done. Continuing with yet more focus on the armed aspect of the situation, framing it in terms of protection while ignoring that the matter for which protection is theoretically required is which bathroom to use, Jay said, “You need to protect yourself, and you need to protect your fellow transgender brothers and sisters and theys and thems.”
Jay added, making the matter even more personal yet again, “You need to protect the rest of us in the LGB community, as I’m going to do myself.” Continuing, Jay focused on defining enemies in this scenario, saying, “I do not fear Christians, I do not fear conservatives, I do not fear evangelicals, and I do not fear Republicans.”
Concluding, in the clip posted on X, Jay described those four groups as merely talking a big game without being able to back those words up with actions, saying, “They just talk a big game, that’s all they do. But heaven forbid you do something in my presence, you’re going to know what fear actually feels like.” Watch Jay here:
Speaker Mike Johson, in a statement about the matter of which restrooms transgender individuals should use in Congress, said, “all single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings (like restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms) are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.”
