In a very embarrassing moment showing that the Democratic Party still doesn’t understand Trump or the currents of discontent in American politics, a forum hosted by MSNBC showed all eight Democratic National Committee chair candidates saying that “racism” and “misogyny” were to blame for Kamala’s big defeat in the 2024 presidential election.
Ignored there was that Trump has an approval rating in the high-50s now that he is president and using his power to go after the illegal immigration problem, both by securing the border and deporting those who are already here, and is working on revamping American trade and taxation policy to make life more prosperous for broad swathes of American society.
In any case, it was on Thursday, January 30 that the ridiculous “racism” and “misogyny” incident occurred. During the MSNBC forum, which took place at Georgetown University, the eight different candidates answered questions from the MSNBC hosts, and showed they had learned nothing.
Those eight DNC chair candidates included, amongst others, somewhat notable personalities like former presidential candidate Marianne Williamson and former Social Security Administration Commissioner Martin O’Malley. The questions they answered came from Jen Psaki, Symone Sanders, and Jonathan Capehart.
It was Capeheart who asked the question about “racism” and “misogyny.” He said, asking them about that supposed aspect of the election, “So, I’m going to have a show of hands. How many of you believe that racism and misogyny played a role in Vice President Harris’ defeat?”
Instead of pushing back on the woke framing and suggesting that the Democratic Party move on from constant cries of “racism” and “sexism,” all of the candidates went along with it, raising their hands. So did the audience members, who performatively raised their hands, “That’s good. You all passed,” Capehart said. Watch that here:

As could be expected, the whole situation was torched on X (formerly Twitter) by conservatives. For example, Sen. Tommy Tuberville wrote, “I’m already looking forward to expanding our majority in 2026” in response to a post from “End Wokeness” saying, “Every single candidate for DNC Chair just blamed their loss in 2024 on racism and misogyny.”
Nate Hochman, a young conservative political commentator, commented on the matter as well, doing so in reply to End Wokeness. Hochman said, “Nobody cares anymore. These magical hate words—racist, sexist, etc—have lost all their power. People just roll their eyes now.”
Other commenters on the End Wokeness post left messages like, “The Democrats will lose again with this nonsense, they have learned nothing,” “Democrats are morons. All they have is this tiresome nonsense about bigotry,” and “It’s ok, keep it up Democrats! Make sure to prop Kamala up again in 2028.”
Yet other commenters on the post said things like, “Goodness. Who could have predicted that manipulating the meaning of words into nothingness could have resulted in words meaning nothing? Derrida? Paging Jacque Derrida!” and “This is actually good. While they keep running in circles, @realDonaldTrump is Winning! We need to cross over and help them elect the “best” person (for R’s) – they did that to us in previous contests. Turnabout is fair play. MAGA”
