Speaking during a recent event, Tom Homan, former ICE Director and current Border Czar, passionately defended ICE and Border Patrol agents as true patriots who risk their lives daily to enforce the law. Drawing from his 40-year career rising through the ranks, he shared the utter tragedy of burying fallen agents.

Additionally, the border czar called on politicians, governors, and mayors to stop attacking these officers, warning it endangers them further. Homan emphasizes the safety of both agents and apprehendees, prays that no one dies in operations, and highlights agents’ nighttime vigilance against unknown threats. He and Rodney Scott returned from retirement to secure the border, conduct historic deportations, and save lives.

Starting off his comments, Homan said, “I’m the first ICE Director who actually came up through the ranks. I’ve been doing this for a long time. I want you all to remember the men and women in uniform around us. They’re patriots. They put their lives in this country, lives in jeopardy every day when they wear that gun, put that cover on our vest.”

Continuing his comments, he offered a sobering reminder of he reality of his dangerous job. “Throughout my career, I’ve buried border [patrol[ agents. I’m begging the politicians, the governors, the mayors who constantly attack these men and women, please stop. I don’t want to bury anybody else,” the border czar added.

Building on this point, he commented on the horrible attacks that ICE agents face for doing their jobs, saying, “It’s not a joke. We’re out there enforcing the laws. Not only I care about the safety of the men and women in uniform’s safety. I care about the safety of those we’re looking for and apprehending. I go to bed every night and pray that no one dies during this operation, no one dies on the border.”

Offering a sobering reminder, Homan continued undeterred. He stated, “I’ve seen too much death, and for those who don’t like me, wear my shoes for 40 years, see the tragedies I’ve seen. That’s burned in me forever, and you understand why so important we secure the border and save lives. I want you to remember three o’clock this morning. I bet everyone you’ll be sleeping comfortably in your bed.”

Additionally, the border czar said, “These men and women will be standing on a dirt trail someplace because a center went off. Is it just someone coming for a better life, or was he a heavily armed drug smuggler? They don’t know, but they’re going to take it on every night across this nation.”

Concluding his sobering remarks, the official declared, “There’s a reason Rodney and I came out of retirement to do this because we believe we’re saving lives every day. The men and women of ICE and border patrol are patriots. Hard stop, love each and every one of them. Thank you for coming today. I appreciate you. Thank you, everybody.”
