Speaking to Fox News Channel’s Laura Ingraham in a powerful interview in which he explained how the administration is doubling down on its efforts to deport as many illegal aliens as possible, Trump Administration Border Czar Tom Homan noted that the number of deportation agents is tripling.
Such is what the border czar explained when Ingraham pressed him on the pace of deportations, noting that though around 600,000 have happened and perhaps as many as over a million and a half illegal aliens have self-deported, many MAGA supporters see that as far too few given the tens of millions of illegal aliens suspected of being in the country.
Responding to her question of how he responds to those who say the administration isn’t doing enough, the border czar began by calling on such people to join up and help him carry out even more deportations. He said, “Then come put a badge and gun on and give us a hand. ICE is hiring record numbers.”
Continuing, he noted that the border security effort he is leading has already been a historic and smashing success, compared to past such efforts, saying, “Bottom line is, I just said, just about 650,000 deportations. That is several 100,000 more than the record that was back in 2012, so it was already a historic operation.”
Building on that, he noted that even more illegal aliens have chosen to self-deport because of the administration’s efforts, saying, “Second of all, you got to consider the people who have left the country out of fear of being deported was over 1.6 million of them. So there’s well over 2.2 million left the country already.”
He further noted that the sprawling, nationwide ICE deportation effort was part of a message that the administration intended to send to the whole world, saying, “In the beginning, we knew if we sent over 1000 ICE teams out across the country, we send a message to the whole world: you enter this country illegally, we’re looking for you. And by sending that message . . . is one the reason why the most secure border in history, in the nation right now, because people aren’t coming, because they know there’s consequences.”
Returning to his point that the administration’s deportation effort has already been, relatively, a major success, the border czar said, “So between the record number of deportations a record number of self deports, we’re already had an historic deportation operation.”

Concluding, he noted that the number of ICE agents out on deportation operations will be tripled by mid-January, saying, “But hold on tight. We’re hiring 10,000 more that are going to be on duty by mid-January. That’s tripling the size, tripling the size of enforcement, mobile operations.”
He then added, “Now wait till next year,” meaning that the already historic numbers will rocket upward tremendously after the number of agents is tripled at the beginning of the new year. Responding to his claims and positivity, Ingraham said, “Well, that’s music to my ears.” Watch Homan and Ingraham here:
