WATCH: Tom Homan Says He’ll Investigate Top Blue State Democrat Who’s Bragging about Breaking Immigration Law

Back on Monday, February 3, the Trump Administration’s no-nonsense Border Czar, Tom Homan, told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity on his show “Hannity” that he will be investigating New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, a Democrat, over his claim that he was housing an illegal immigrant. Gov. Murphy was trying to taunt the Trump Administration with that claim.

As background, Gov. Murphy said on Saturday, February 1, “I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there’s someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to and we said, ‘You know what, let’s have her live at our house above our garage.'” He added, “And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her.”

Murphy, also compared Trump to the Nazis, saying, “The Germans in the ’20s and ’30s got tired, they got sick of fighting, and look at the price we paid.” He added, “We cannot roll over, we cannot stop fighting. We need an intensity.” Murphy’s office insisted that the governor does not have an illegal immigrant living with him and that his comments were misinterpreted.

In any case, FNC’s Hannity broached the subject on his show, asking Homan if the Trump Administration would put up with Murphy’s taunting claims. Homan said it would not be, and that that government is investigating it and will seek to prosecute him if it turns out to be true, and he is harboring an illegal.

Broaching the subject, show host Sean Hannity said, “Let me read a headline to you, ‘Chicago Leaders Encourage Residents to Exercise ‘Their Rights’ in Resisting Trump’s Deportation Policies‘. The Governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy, basically admitted that he knew somebody that didn’t have full documentation that he was hiding over his garage.”

Hannity also noted that a Republican Senator is working to give victims of illegal immigrants the right to sue sanctuary jurisdictions, saying, “Then we have Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) saying that people should have the right to sue sanctuary cities and states that aid and abet in lawbreaking, your comment on all of that.”

That’s when Tom Homan sounded off on Governor Murphy. First, the gravel-voiced, no-nonsense Border Czar said that the New Jersey Governor is a fool for bragging about breaking immigration law, because now Homan’s ICE will be coming after him. He began, “I think the Governor is pretty foolish saying what he said.”

Explaining why Murphy was so foolish in bragging about his potentially illegal behavior, Homan said it will be investigated and it is a serious crime. He said, “Because I got note of it, won’t let it go, we’ll look into it. And if he’s knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien, that’s a violation of Title 8 of the United States Code 1324.”

He then concluded by telling Hannity that if there was a violation, if the Democrat governor was hiding an illegal immigrant in his house, there will be prosecution of him for it. He said, “I will seek prosecution — or the secretary will seek prosecution. So, maybe he’s bluffing. If he’s not, we’ll deal with that.” Watch that here:
