WATCH: Tom Homan Reveals What’s Going On with Pam Bondi and Where She’s Headed Next after Abrupt Firing

Border czar Tom Homan, who has played a critical role in President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement operations, appeared on Fox News on April 2, where he commented on the news of Attorney General Pam Bondi being fired from her position, stating that the administration would move forward with its immigration agenda without pause.

That same day, President Trump announced that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche would take Bondi’s place as acting head of the Justice Department following Bondi’s ouster. Homan, sitting down for a conversation on The Will Cain Show, made it crystal clear that the administration has no plans to slow down its enforcement operations.

“I think Todd Blanche will step up and won’t skip a beat. I think you keep that train on the track. We’ll keep moving forward,” Homan told show host Will Cain. He also revealed that he was not notified in advance of Bondi’s firing. “Well, of course, I wasn’t in the loop on that. But Pam Bondi, look, we have a close relationship,” he continued.

I have her cell phone, a personal cell phone number. We talked quite a bit. Same with Todd Blanche. I talk to Todd Blanche very frequently to talk about immigration cases, right?” Homan went on to say about the firing. “Not only prosecuting smugglers and traffickers but suing sanctuary cities and taking action against agitators that have assaulted ICE agents. So I’ve got a close relationship with both. I wish Pam Bondi the best.”

According to a report published by the Daily Caller, Bondi has been taking significant heat for how she handled files related to deceased billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. In February 2025, Bondi said she was in possession of Epstein’s client list and would soon distribute a series of binders to conservative figures at the White House.

Unfortunately, most of the material contained in the binders was already fairly well known from previous releases. This led to significant backlash from MAGA supporters, centrists, and Republicans. Tensions rose even more a few months later in July. A memo from the DOJ stated that no client list existed and seemingly confirmed Epstein truly did die from suicide.

In November, the Epstein Files Transparency Act was passed and the DOJ gradually began to release the files. Reports state that President Trump has been deeply frustrated with Bondi’s leadership for months, privately referring to her as a “weak and ineffective enforcer.” In March 2026, the House Oversight Committee voted to summon Bondi for testimony concerning the Epstein files.

In a post on Truth Social, the president said, “Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year. We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future.” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche responded to the news of his taking Bondi’s place saying, “We will continue backing the blue, enforcing the law, and doing everything in our power to keep America safe.”
