Appearing during the broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures” on Sunday, December 21, Trump Administration Border Czar Tom Homan went nuclear on the political left for the many attacks that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers face, saying that those who engage in “hateful rhetoric” against them are responsible for the sharp increase in attacks we have seen.
For reference, the Trump Administration has worked to dramatically expand the number of ICE raids and similar crackdowns on illegal immigration all over the country, and that higher profile effort to deal with the illegal immigration problem has met with continued hysterics from the Democrats and increasingly rabid language directed ICE’s way. Further, agents have seen a massive increase in the number of attacks they face during those raids and in attacks on and violent protests outside of their detention centers.
So, when speaking on Sunday Morning Futures, Border Czar Homan noted the sharp uptick in the number of attacks his agents are facing and sounded off on the Democrats for using their large platforms to push such virulent attacks through the spewing of hateful rhetoric.
His comments came when host Maria Bartiromo asked him, “[D]emocrats still fight President Trump and they try to stop his agenda. What about all these attacks on ICE? What is the status of that right now? Because I know that Democrats do not want to follow the law when it comes to border protection.”
Responding to her inquiry, Mr. Homan noted that the number of attacks is beyond what he has ever seen in his life, and the number of threats has exploded to an unimaginable degree. He said, “Again, the threats against ICE are up over 8,000%. Actual assaults are up like 1,300%. Again, never seen anything like this in my life.”
He then noted, however, that Attorney General Pam Bondi is cracking down on those who threaten ICE, saying, “But the good thing is, Department of Justice under Pam Bondi is prosecuting at record numbers for violations 18-USC-111, which is impeding, interference, putting hands on an ICE officer. So I looked at the numbers the other day. I have never seen so many prosecutions in my life.”
Further, he explained that those who threaten ICE will and are facing sharp consequences for those threats and attacks, saying, “So we’re sending a strong message. There is — it’s zero consequence. You put a hand on an ICE officer, if you interfere with an ICE officer, you will get a set of handcuffs and you’re going to go to jail and you’re going to be federally prosecuted.”

Concluding, he called on Democrats to cut the rhetoric out, saying, “So I wish they would just stop. I did a speech from the border the other day. I wish the rhetoric, the hateful rhetoric from congressmen, mayors and governors would stop, because I said it back to March. There’s going to be bloodshed. Unfortunately, there has been bloodshed. I don’t want more bloodshed. But unless they stop doing what they’re doing, there will be more. And I worry about that every day.”
