Speaking with MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski in a smackdown of an interview appearance, Trump Administration Border Czar Tom Homan lit her up to her face for claiming that people have been “disappeared” by ICE, an insinuation that the immigration enforcement agency is acting like Stalin’s NKVD.
That came on Tuesday, September 9, when Mr. Homan appeared on the notoriously woke network with the notoriously far-left host and went nuclear on her for her repeated lies about the administration’s border defense and immigration enforcement policies, noting that she was insinuating that normal, legal law enforcement activity was somehow tyrannical.
Beginning, Brzezinski pressed the border czar for information on who has been caught and released versus detained for good or detained and deported, which she referred to as being “disappeared.” She said, “I’d love some transparency as to why a lot of these people have been disappeared. You say you have data. We would love to see it.”
Exploding in his response to her, Mr. Homan slammed her for her use of terminology, insisting, “You just said disappeared. That is a ridiculous thing to say because ICE is doing the same thing we’ve done for decades. But, because of the last four years, ICE wasn’t allowed to enforce the law. ICE was told to sit back.”
Continuing, he noted that those who don’t like the ICE approach to border enforcement should complain to Congress about the law ICE is enforcing, not about ICE enforcing that law. He snapped, “We’re doing the same thing right now that we did when I started back in 1984. ICE agents are enforcing the laws enacted by Congress. If you don’t like what ICE is doing, then go protest Congress.”
Then, building on that by noting that her framing was an utter lie, as ICE is not “disappearing” people but rather detaining criminals, snapping, “To say we disappeared people, no. We’re arresting people that are in the country illegally and are a public safety threat. We know exactly who we’re going to arrest when we go look for them.”
Adding to that with further details regarding why the claim that ICE is “disappearing” people is an utter lie, Mr. Homan said, “We have a case file in front of us. We have all those facts. This is not disappearing people. This is a planned, targeted enforcement operation that we’re doing.”

Moving from that to how claims of the same sort Mika had just made are demoralizing ICE agents and putting them at risk of attack, saying, “And the comments like you just made is one of the reasons why these men and women are under threat every day, not just the men and women in ICE, but their spouses and their children. They’re not disappearing people. They’re enforcing the law.”
That wasn’t all. He also noted that Mika had hosted a liar earlier in the day and helped push the lies that are ginning up falsehood-based threats against ICE, snapping, “I see on the show this morning you have Governor Healey talking about ICE doing enforcement operations at a church. False! Didn’t happen.” Mika, defending the alleged liar, said, “No, they were parked there. She said they were parked in a public space.”
Homan then thundered, “But to say that and to push that out there puts fear in the immigrant community!” Mika snapped back, “No, to do that puts fear in the community!” Homan, shutting her down with furious comments on the sort of criminals being released, said, “They’re on a public street waiting to respond to a criminal alien being released! […] Aggravated rape! […] Aggravated assault on a pregnant victim!”
