During a recent segment of “The View,” Joy Behar, one of the far-left cohosts of that show, claimed that crime is going down under Brandon, saying:
I want to say there is no sides here. No and a lot of them like to say it, including Ted Cruz when he was here, and I’d like to remind everybody but it was the Democrats.
The not the Democrats who stormed the government. That’s a and tried to kill the vice president. Yeah. Okay. And the Republicans now coming up to the next election, which is next week, by the way, that all they do is talk about crime, crime, crime.
Well, I looked it up. Murders in major cities have fallen by 4% so far in 2022, compared with the same period a year ago, so the crime is not on the rise.

Behar was, of course, utterly routed on Twitter for the claim, with people putting what she said in context and mocking her for making it. Here are some of the good ones (these comments are meant only to show what people on Twitter said, not to claim that anything these comments say is the truth of the matter):
Murders in major cities have fallen by 4% as opposed to last year. That’s like saying, Last year everybody jump out the 100th floor of a building and died, But now everybody is jumping out of the 96th floor that a lot better. Tell us what’s the difference is? 4%. Wow!

This is true! Good thing we have the very intelligent women on The View to let us know, my car was only broken into 3 times this year in San Francisco, last year it was 5 that’s literally proof it’s gone down

Questionable analysis methods used to come up with the study results. Any statistician will tell you that you can make the results say whatever you want if you know how to manipulate the data.
1-They live in a bubble, a limousine picks them up at their home, they do the show and then they get back into the limousine. The food is bought for them, the clothes are bought by ABC , they have their hair done in the ABC building. Everything they say it’s been written and copy

Yep, right along with zero inflation, gas prices are lower than when he took office, your hair is blonde (or should be), your show is great, no Lefty suggested to defund the police, Fetterman isn’t hiding anything and Kamala is in charge of the border. Lol…got it! 👌
And the always terrific James Woods added context with a tweet of his own on the subject, posting a chart of how much crime skyrocketed in 2020, showing that a slight dip might not really mean things are going as well as Behar implied:
