Following the shocking decision from the Manhattan jury to convict former President Donald Trump on all 34 counts brought against him by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg in the case overseen by Judge Juan Merchan, Fox News Channel host “Jesse Watters” sounded off on FNC’s “The Five,” on which he is a co-host. Particularly, he called out the left’s reasons for conducting the trial and argued that Trump’s life is like a Greek tragedy.
Beginning, Watters called out the political motivations for the anti-Trump trial, alleging that it was conducted because Trump is doing well against Joe Biden. He said, “Trump was found guilty because he beat Hillary [Clinton] and is about to beat Joe Biden. I thought I’d be angry. But I feel this cool resignation, this resoluteness, that we are wounded as a country.”
Continuing, Watters vowed not to surrender or give up, but rather that the right would fight back and take to task those who are destroying America. He said, “And we’re not going to go down. That we’re going to get back up. We’re going to regain our strength. And then we are going to vanquish the evil forces that are destroying this republic.”
He then noted that the average American won’t see the case as being a good thing, particularly given all that is going wrong in American and the little being done to correct it, with the regime instead focused on Trump. He said, “And if you look at the American people, how are they looking at this? People are desperate for help from these politicians, for safety, for security.”
Then, ripping into the regime apparatchiks behind the case and calling them “wicked people” who are obsessed with trying to stop Trump by any means necessary. He said, “And these nitwits, consumed with hatred, outright planning to destroy a man because he threatens their power. These are wicked people, obsessed with a person, and we will seek justice. We guarantee that.”
Watters next got to the Greek tragedy part of the rant, saying, “This man’s life is a Greek tragedy. From billionaire, bankruptcy, TV star, Hollywood Walk of Fame. Divorces, marriages, children. And that was even before he enters politics! And then you have investigations and hoaxes and a pandemic. And now they are trying to incarcerate this person. And the only way this act ends, if he is reelected, and it looks like he will be reelected. June is going to be a pivotal month.”
Watters added that Trump was right to be angry as many people think the trial against him was rigged, but that the real verdict will come in November, saying, “[Trump] was angry. He said it was rigged, and we all know it was rigged. We all know he can’t get a fair trial here, but the key point was that the real verdict is on November 5th. But not 12 men and women get to decide; 330 million men and women get to decide. And that is the key. So get out there and vote.”
