During a recent broadcast of “The Five,” co-hosts Greg Gutfeld and Jessica Tarlov descended into a shouting match over the accuracy of economic data between the Trump and Biden-Harris administrations. Gutfeld maintained that the United States economy was in a far better position under Trump than Biden, particularly with jobs and unemployment, an assertion that Tarlov disputed.
Co-host Jeanine Pirro asked Gutfeld, “Okay, Greg, do you agree with that?” referencing the views of Tarlov. The comedian responded, “No. I mean, I don’t believe it. I mean, all that stuff you just said.” Tarlov interjected, “Like, all the all the facts.” Gutfeld offered a firm rebuttal toward the talking points of his fellow panelist, making the case that Trump experienced historically low unemployment under his watch.
“No, it’s like you talked about, like, the historical low unemployment. That was under Trump. You talked about his jobs…” Gutfeld said, before Tarlov quickly interrupted. “No it wasn’t…it was lower under Biden than Trump.” The two quickly devolved into a back-and-forth exchange of “no it wasn’t” and “yes it was,” where Gutfeld maintained, “I can do this all day.”
The American Tribune recently reported on another disagreement between Tarlov and her co-hosts when she took issue with former independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dropping out of the presidential race and endorsing former President Donald Trump. “Okay, I’m just saying that it is he knows that he can have a better job winning by taking him. There’s nothing genuine about this, it’s not because he’s good-hearted,” she said, dismissing Kennedy’s move as a calculated political tactic.
Jesse Watters quickly jumped in, offering a rebuttal to Tarlov’s commentary, suggesting that RFK Jr. is a much more genuine figure than other politicians. “Well, Jessica, she [Jill Stein] called Biden a racist and then joined his ticket. Are you able to do that in politics?” he said. Co-host Tyrus also weighed in, pointing out that RFK Jr. sided with Trump as the Republican was actually willing to discuss substantive policy issues.
“The reason why she’s not going to talk to him is because all he wants to talk about is policy,” Tyrus said. He added, “We’re still waiting to hear those things. I think you can have a meeting, and they’ve had several meetings, or a couple meetings, and they aired out their differences, ow the political process used to be to people who see things very differently. They sit down, they find common ground. Like we don’t agree on this and we agree on this. Unfortunately, we don’t have it.”
Tyrus added that a change to the traditional two-party system that has dominated American politics, with the inclusion of more parties, would be beneficial. “Do I think there needs to be more candidates when we make a choice. Yeah, I would love to see a four party system or a three party system. I think the reason why, not only did he not want to be the deciding factor in the swing state,” he said.
