Recently, Stormy Daniels’ husband, Barret Blade, spoke to CNN regarding the implications of a not guilty verdict in the NY v. Trump hush money case. Blade, also an adult film star, noted the backlash his wife has endured amid her accusations against former President Donald Trump.
Blade told CNN’s Erin Burnett that if Trump is cleared of all charges, he and Stormy would have to weigh their next move. He indicated that there is a “good chance” that he and his wife would flee the country to avoid further controversy.
“If Trump is found not guilty… I don’t think it gets better for her, you know? I think if it’s not guilty, we got to decide what to do. Good chance we’ll probably vacate this country,” Blade said during the interview with the left-leaning network on Tuesday.
According to the prosecution in the case, Daniels received $130,000 in hush money payments to not discuss an alleged romantic affair with Trump, which he has consistently denied. The former president’s charges pertaining to the falsification of business documents surrounding the payment.
However, Blade claimed that even if Trump is found guilty in the trial, Daniels will likely still face “hate” from Trump supporters who blame her for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s conviction. “If he is found guilty that she’s still gonna have to deal with all the hate that feel like she’s the reason that he’s guilty from all of his followers,” he added.
The adult film star added that the predicament is essentially a lose-lose situation, where Blade and Daniels want to carry on with a normal life and move past the case. “I don’t see it as a win situation either way,” he continued. “We would like to get on with our lives… she wants to move past this…We just want to do what I guess we’d say normal people here to do in some aspects.”
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Donald Trump relating to the hush money case brought against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Trump has continually maintained his innocence amid the charges, claiming the legal battle is a “witch hunt” orchestrated to keep him off the campaign trail and thwart his reelection efforts.
“Virtually every Legal Analyst and Scholar said yesterday, at the end of the day, THAT THERE IS NO CASE, AND THAT THIS WITCH HUNT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN BROUGHT, AND SHOULD BE THROWN OUT NOW!!! WHY WASN’T THIS HOAX BROUGHT SEVEN YEARS AGO, INSTEAD OF IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WINNING CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT — ELECTION INTERFERENCE.”
Trump has also frequently criticized New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who presides over the case. The former president has emphasized that the judge is allegedly “compromised” and “conflicted” in what amounts to a “scam” of a trial.
The GOP frontrunner, “The problem is that this Judge, Merchan, is TOTALLY COMPROMISED, CONFLICTED, AND CORRUPT, MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM AND ITS OUTCOME. He can’t render a fair decision, too much is at stake for him and the Democrats. The Appellate Division should remove him immediately!”
