In an absolutely stunning speech, even for her, delivered as the Trump Administration turns the screws on Cuba, far-left “Squad” Democrat Pramila Jayapal revealed that she has secretly been working with the communist Cuban regime in an attempt to get it oil supplies now that Venezuela isn’t providing the Iranians with free oil.
As background, Marco Rubio, revealing what is going on in Cuba, said, “Here’s what’s happening with Cuba, okay? Cuba used to get free oil from Venezuela. They would take like 60% of that oil and resell it for cash.” He added, “It wouldn’t even go to benefit the people. So the only blockade that’s happened is … the Venezuelans have decided we’re not giving you free oil anymore.”
It was against that state of things that Rep. Jayapal was fighting, as she revealed in a press conference in which she announced, “In January, Trump issued an executive order threatening tariffs on any countries supplying fuel to Cuba. This was this January, just a few months ago. And oil shipments from Venezuela — that’s where Cuba had been getting its oil — were halted after the U.S. operations to kidnap Nicolás Maduro. Since January, only one Russian tanker of oil has made it to Cuba, In fact, it landed just a couple of days before I landed, and one tanker has enough oil basically for 10 to 14 days of Cuba’s oil needs — so it’s a very limited amount of time.”
Continuing, she said, “Now Russia has said they’re going to send another tanker. I was in conversations with the ambassadors from Mexico and some other places, and I know other countries in Latin America are trying to figure out how to get oil there. But it is a crisis beyond imagination. Just this past Friday on May 1, Trump signed a broad executive order that widens sanctions and allows for new penalties, similar to what we have for Iran and Russia, against foreign banks and firms that are dealing with Cuba, and it also reinforces the ban on U.S. tourism.”
She then insisted, “I have called these sanctions an economic bombing of the infrastructure of Cuba. It is illegal, it is against the war — we’ve been talking about this in Iran, obviously — to bomb the infrastructure of any country. That is against international law. This is essentially doing the same thing. It is bombing the infrastructure of Cuba with economic sanctions that essentially ensure that the infrastructure collapses.”
Predictably, she was called out for “treason” over her comments. One post on X went viral, claiming, “This is actual, literal, undeniable treason. One of the clearest cases in years. Trump DOJ has to prosecute- horrible precedent to let this go unpunished.”
That poster added, “It is demoralizing to average americans to see foreigners and democrats like Jayapal routinely commit treason and treason-lite without punishment. Something has to be done. The people demand justice.”

Similarly, Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL) declared, “Treason is outlined right there in our Constitution. You can’t give aid or comfort to enemies. It’s also a statute. Now I don’t know that — it hasn’t been used very often in our nation’s history, but — and there may be other federal statutes that apply here — but this is astounding and, by the way, she and Ilhan Omar last year went to Cuba. They just went again. This hasn’t been something that members of Congress do repeatedly.”
She added, “This new progressive caucus, which are basically communists, look at what they’re espousing around the nation, what they are trying to do by cracking down on businesses, government-run businesses, pushing people out of these areas, making people rely on government. That’s communism 101. They’re traveling around the world, meeting with cartel members, going to communist nations. It is unbelievable what has become of this Democratic Party. And all of the Democrats that have given these people cover should be ashamed.”
She concluded, “This ain’t your daddy’s Democrat Party anymore. This is people who believe in a different form of government. They work against and do not believe in the United States of America. And you have got to have strong senators and House members pushing back on this type of activity. I think ethics complaints will be coming. The fact that she went and met with a communist nation and try to work against the policy of the United States, at the very least, not to mention an investigation possibly criminally.”
