Who is the greatest NBA player of all time? Not LeBron James. Such is what former NBA star and current businessman Shaquille O’Neal said when speaking on a recent episode of “The Big Shaq Podcast” with former Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers. The two discussed whether the greatest player ever was Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, or LeBron James, and Shaq, who played against all three, said the answer certainly wasn’t LeBron.
Particularly, Shaq commented that players in the league often feared having to face off against Jordan and Bryant, but that no one ever said the same about LeBron James. He said, “I’ve heard players say, including myself, ‘I feared Mike.’ I’ve heard players in your generation say, ‘I feared Kobe.’ I never really heard any players say they fear LeBron.”
Responding to Shaq, Chalmers said that he was attacked for saying that he doubted players “really feared LeBron like they did Jordan.” Affirming him, Shaq chimed in and reiterated that, when it came to fearing LeBron, he “never heard anybody say it.”
Chalmers, clarifying his stance, said, “And it’s not that, you shouldn’t fear ‘Bron. I just think that, at the end of the day, ‘Bron has been through so much he wanted to be liked. So, it was kinda like… I’m gonna do things now where people like me, people will respect… We’re always gonna respect what he did. But you actually like ‘Bron and want to be a fan of ‘Bron now.”
Shaq is generally better liked than LeBron among conservatives, as he is both less political than the far-left LeBron and exhibits strong family values. For example, he explained in 2023 how he uses business lessons to help his kids develop, saying that if they ask him for money his makes them show a “business plan” and do their “due diligence” first. “Since you want me to be the bank, I’m gonna do exactly what the bank is going to do to you,” he said.
He also commented on how he has tried to hold out rewards to get his kids to pursue higher education. He said, “I’m like, ‘If you go to law school and graduate, you get a big bag.’ Because out of my six, they’re the smartest; they’re the ones that are probably gonna run the company.” He jokingly added, “So I’m trying to bribe all of them like, ‘Hey, just go to law school for me and I’ll give you whatever you want,'”

UFC legend Colby Covington, torching Lebron James for his alleged anti-American attitude in December of 2023, said, “If you hate America so much and you don’t like this country that gave you a billion dollars, leave it or come deal with me. You go to China go to go to the sweatshops that you employ all these laborers and use these women and pan pennies on the dollar to make your millions. F*ck you LeBron James. You’re coward. You’re a spineless coward. You’re a b*tch.”
