Speaking in a powerful video posted to X, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) revealed what is going on with the SAVE America Act in the Senate, why it hasn’t yet been passed, and who is holding it up, along with what ordinary Americans can do to help push it forward and help patriotic senators make sure it becomes the law.
As background, the SAVE America Act is a key initiative that has already been passed in the House and is a key initiative of President Trump’s. It has, however, been repeatedly and infuriatingly stymied by a combination of constantly intransigent Democrats and weak-spined, Establishment RINOs who want to spit in President Trump’s face by not passing his bill. As such, it has languished in the Senate for months despite its critical importance.
In any case, Sen. Lee revealed what is going on behind the scenes with a short video he posted to X. In that half-minute video, he explained what’s holding the bill up and that Republican voters can help the bill pass by pressuring their politicians. Captioning the video, the Senator declared, “Our ability to pass the SAVE America Act is in our own hands. We just need Senate Republicans to buckle down and remain committed to keeping the debate going until the bill passes.”
Beginning the video, the senator explained what is going on with the Democrats and the bill, saying, “The Senate Democrats just keep lying about the SAVE AMERICA Act. They don’t have any good arguments against it. They know the American people support it and they don’t want it to pass, so they’re just going to keep lying about it.”
Continuing, he noted how lilly-livered Republicans are in large part to blame for the bill’s failure to pass in the Senate so far, arguing that the real issue is Republicans won’t just get to debating the bill and boldly take a stand for it. He said, “The only thing stopping us from passing the SAVE AMERICA Act is our own ability to just get on the bill and keep debating it.”
Further, he said that all senators need to get to debating the bill and voting for it, and that Republican voters should be demanding their Senators do exactly that. He said, “If we will get on the bill and keep debating it until we’re finished debating it. It’ll pass, but we do have to do it. So tell your senators, get on the SAVE AMERICA Act. Don’t do another thing. Keep debating it until it passes.”

Sen. Lee has tried to keep the pressure up online, posting things like, “Today is April 14, 2026. It’s time for the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act” and, in a post of him smiling with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, “My friend and I both agree: The Senate must pass the SAVE America Act. Now.” On a similar note, Elon Musk argued, “Failing to pass SAVE is an act of high treason against the people of America”.
