WATCH: Sanctuary City Mayor Warns City Has “Reached a Breaking Point”

How are things going in New York City, once this Big Apple and now the Rotten Apple? Not great. According to Mayor Eric Adams, the quality of life in the city for its legal residents is going to keep getting worse due to the incoming flood tide of illegal immigrants that are overwhelming the city and its resources as it struggles to provide public goods to residents.

Speaking on the situation in a recent press conference on the matter, Mayor Adams warned that the quality of life in the city has started to decline noticeably in a very short period of time, saying, “We’ve seen the erosion of the quality of life that we’ve improved on in such a short period of time of this administration. And we have been impacted.”

Continuing, he added that his administration has tried to keep the issue from impacting the public overly much and from flooding onto the streets, but that it has grown utterly unmanageable because of the vast number of illegal immigrants pouring into the city. He said, “For, for many months, we were able to keep the visualization of this crisis from hitting our streets. But we have reached a breaking point, we no longer able to do that, because of the volume in numbers.”

Giving some examples of the massive numbers involved, he noted the thousands of people pouring in every week, saying, “Just last week, we had 3900 People that arrived here, we are averaging anywhere from 2500 to close to 4000 a week.”

He then explained how that would present a problem for New Yorkers, saying, “And if you do the math, you see that’s 8000 every two weeks, potentially 16,000 a month that we must feed, clothe house, educate children, and all the services that you would give a normal adults and we’re seeing that play out on our streets of New York. And that is what the breaking point looks like what we are experiencing right now.”

Mayor Johnson of Chicago issued a similar warning to Chicagoans recently, saying that the Windy City’s services have been stretched to the breaking point by illegal immigration. He said, “The public good is already stressed, whether it’s our transportation system, our health care system, our education system. All of these systems are already stretched to meet the demands of families who had been here. You know, over the past seven months it’s been an incredible an incredible strain on every aspect of of city services.”

Gov. Abbott of Texas, meanwhile, has pledged to continue bussing thousands of illegals to sanctuary cities to pressure them. He recently said (punctuation added for ease of reading), “Texas will bus migrants to sanctuary cities until Biden secures the border. Over 12,500 to DC, Over 25,000 to New York City, Over 20,000 to Chicago, Over 3,200 to Philadelphia, Over 7,400 to Denver, Over 1,100 to Los Angeles. Our mission provides vital relief to border towns.”
