WATCH: Sanctuary City Mayor Seemingly Admits to New, Discriminatory Crime on Tape

A video clip is making the rounds on social media showing Chicago Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson admitting that he discriminates against hiring white males, providing yet another piece of evidence to support the theory that he’s a legitimate racist. The clip was captured during a television interview with the mayor who stated that he’s been “very intentional” about hiring more “diverse” individuals for his administration.

“I’ve been very intentional about making sure that my administration, unlike previous administrations, have people who work for me that reflect the community,” Johnson said during the interview. “Once upon a time, just to be very blunt with you, two administrations ago, seventy percent of the mayor’s administration were white men, right?”

He then added, “That’s just not a diversified approach.” This isn’t the first time that Johnson has come under heavy criticism for discriminatory hiring practices. In 2025, the Justice Department launched an investigation into the Chicago Democrat for that very reason. The probe was launched following comments he made during a church service where he highlighted the number of black individuals that had recently been hired by the city.

According to a report from Fox Baltimore, Johnson said during the service, “The deputy Mayor is a Black woman. Department of Planning Development is a black woman. Infrastructure Deputy Mayor is a Black woman. Chief Operations Officer is a Black man.” Conservatives have stated that hiring someone of a different race isn’t a problem, so long as that individual is the most highly-qualified for the position.

The issue is when someone of color is chosen for a job they aren’t really qualified for, simply due to their race or ethnicity, bypassing another individual who might have been a better fit. Johnson addressed the investigation by saying, “My administration reflects the country, it reflects the city. His administration reflects the country club.” The last part of the statement was a reference to President Donald Trump.

White House Senior Policy Strategist May Mailman noted that, “It appears as though the mayor is hiring on the basis not who’s going to improve the schools, who’s going to be the most efficient for the taxpayer, but based on race.” The Justice Department announced it would create a new unit called the “Civil Rights Fraud Initiative” to look into diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies at federally funded universities.

John P. Fishwick Jr., a former U.S. Attorney, commented on the Trump administration’s efforts, saying, “It really turns up the heat on these major elite universities, you know, Harvard in particular. DOJ over the last several weeks, each week has almost brought a new initiative against Harvard.” Harvard then pushed back against the administration’s actions, claiming they infringe on its academic freedom.

Fishwick then said, “We’ve got two legal titans fighting it out. They’re very serious. They continue to turn up the heat and this is going to continue to play out for months and years to come.” A user who commented on the video clip, pointed out that when the left uses the term “diversity” it “just means less white people,” noting it never refers to people of other ethnicities.
