San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has recently made headlines for photobombing his teammate Brock Purdy during a postgame interview, showing his support for former President Donald Trump. As the team’s quarterback spoke to a reporter, Bosa stormed into the camera wearing a MAGA hat, pointing the embroidered phrase on his head.
The popular account NFL memes shared a clip of the incident, writing, “Nick Bosa crashed the SNF postgame interview wearing a MAGA hat.” The incident sparked an outpouring of support from other users on social media. “Hats off to SF 49er Nick Bosa who interrupted NBC’s postgame interview to do a MAGA drive by. His teammates all smiled. They’re all voting for Trump too,” one person wrote on X.
Popular conservative commentator Vince Langman similarly wrote on X, “San Francisco star Nick Bosa crashed NBC’s post-game interview last night wearing a gold and white MAGA hat, and the liberal sports media is going batshit crazy this morning. Trump is Hitler has completely failed. Nothing can stop what’s coming on November 5th!”
“San Francisco 49ers’ Nick Bosa photobombed a teammate’s interview wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. This is the kind of fearless energy that is driving the Trump campaign and his massive nationwide support,” Ben Swann, founder of Truth In Media, wrote on X. “Not Afraid To Represent: 49ers star Nick Bosa crashed the Sunday Night Football post-game with a MAGA hat! It’s not surprising that more and more informed Americans are supporting Trump. They are seeing through the constant gaslighting and dangerous rhetoric,” another user commented.
While Bosa unashamedly demonstrated his support for former President Donald Trump, some NFL fans have not been able to wear the famous MAGA hat while watching their favorite professional team. The American Tribune recently reported on an incident in which an Arizona Cardinal fan was forced to remove their MAGA hat to enter a game earlier this year.
One fan recounted when she was told to remove her hat, stating, “She’s like, ‘No political hats or shirts.’ And I said, ‘I haven’t heard that at all.’ And I said, ‘That doesn’t make sense to me.’ And she goes, ‘I said, Take your hat off.'” Then explained that she wished she hadn’t complied with the order in hindsight. “In retrospect, I wish I would have stood my ground,” she said.
According to a statement from the Arizona Cardinals, “In an isolated incident at Sunday’s game, a stadium security member misunderstood a policy on prohibited items. Like most venues, ‘signage, posters, flags, or displays that are….political in nature’ are not permitted. However, that did not apply in this instance. Moving forward we will work to provide clarity to all stadium personnel in these situations. We have also reached out to the individual involved to communicate that their experience was not consistent with our policies and practices and to apologize for that.”
