What is MSNBC? According to British actor and commentator Russell Brand, it’s nothing more than pure propaganda. That comment came when Brand appeared Friday on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher alongside MSNBC analyst John Heilemann and skewered Meilemann’s network, saying that it’s ludicrous for propaganda network MSNBC to be constantly attacking Fox news as Heilemann got more and more defensive.
Speaking about MSNBC, Brand first said “It is disingenuous to claim that the biases that are exhibited on Fox News are any different from the biases exhibited on MSNBC. It’s difficult to suggest that these corporations exist as anything other than mouthpieces for their affiliate owners in Black Rock and Vanguard.”
Continuing, he then described his appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” a decade ago, saying he thought the network was “propagandist nut-crackery.”
Commenting on that and describing his MSNBC appearance as Maher laughed hysterically, Brand said “It wasn’t morning. There was no one called Joe there. No one could concentrate. They didn’t understand the basic tenets of journalism.“
Continuing, he added “No one was willing to stick up for genuine American heroes like Edward Snowden, no one was willing to talk about Julian Assange and what he suffered trying to bring real journalism to the American people and I think to sit within the castle of MSNBC throwing rocks at Fox News is ludicrous. Make MSNBC better. Make MSNBC great again!”
Heilemann tried to dismiss Brand’s criticism of his network, saying “You don’t actually know anything about the organizations you’re talking about. You’ve been on MSNBC once. Big fucking deal.”
Rebutting Heilemann, Brand said that he was referring to MSNBC’s “biases” and cited its “ludicrous, outrageous criticisms of Joe Rogan around ivermectin” as an example of how the network lies. He also said, when describing MSNBC’s Ivermectin lies, that they were “Deliberately referring to it as a horse medicine when they know it is an effective medicine.”
Brand then argued that the current American political system doesn’t represent ordinary Americans, saying “We need new political systems that legitimately represent ordinary Americans so that we can overcome cultural differences and bickering about which propagandist network is the worst is not going to save a single American life, not improve the life of a single American child, not going to improve America’s standing in the world, and the world needs a strong America, I’ll tell you that.”
The comments were not out of the ordinary for Brand, who has recently called out the mainstream media for its lies. Speaking on the matter in his podcast, Brand has said that the media, government, and big corporations are working together to empower and enrich themselves to the detriment of ordinary people.
Regime apparatchiks like Heilemann might get defensive and upset about that, but do any real Americans or ordinary people disagree with him? Can anyone other than a select few corporatists and leftists say that the regime represents them? Nope.
