Ron DeSantis released his campaign’s final ad of the gubernatorial race and to say it succeeded would be a gross understatement. Whereas DeSantis’s opponent Charlie Crist has run a nasty and vile campaign – at different times calling his supporters “toothless hillbillies” and insinuating his supporters are just scummy people – DeSantis took the high road for one of the most positive and inspiring ads of the season.
Take a look at this feel-good political ad, something you would never see a leftist try:
Here is @GovRonDeSantis’s final ad for his landslide re-election campaign. Nice of @JoeBiden to travel down to Florida to celebrate the landslide a week early. Seriously, how is Biden this tone deaf? pic.twitter.com/QNopFvYuks

Two of the top comments on Twitter correctly summarized what is going on here. For his entire governorship, DeSantis has toed the line between firm on values while also embracing all constituents. He doesn’t attack people; he attacks evil ideas. And that’s a huge difference.
It amazes me that most politicians don’t realize that the most powerful, resounding commercials are simple and don’t have to even mention their opponent.
Positive, upbeat, inclusive, and hopeful. An ad that appeals to the values that bind us. Compare to the typical Democrat add: negative, depressing, divisive, and dire. Ads that appeal to what divides us. And they can’t figure out why they don’t have broad appeal.
Indeed, DeSantis is a unifier, much like Donald Trump before him. Whereas the Donald invited everyone to his camp, asking them what they had to lose by trying something new, both Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden labeled other Americans as deplorables and racists. It’s beyond disgusting. Crist is no different.
The left is full of hate and anger, and their loathing of regular Americans is on full display everyday.
And while this is a good ad, it isn’t the only thing DeSantis has gotten right. Through 2022, he and his team have produced fantastic videos that appeal to common sense, unity, and compassion. As the midterm elections draw near, it’s worth revisiting some of his best:
My favorite will always be this one, from back in January of this year. For context, it’s important to remember the nation was in the thralls of Covid tyranny. Joe Biden a month before had issued his charming Christmas message of sickness and death for the unvaccinated and the Supreme Court narrowly defeated extensive mandates. So, DeSantis being DeSantis, he told Anthony Fauci to pound sand:
This ad from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis taking aim at Dr Fauci is absolute fire.

Then there’s this one, riffing off the wildly successful – both critically and commercially – Top Gun sequel featuring a grateful Tom Cruise.
DeSantis then went for the heartstrings with an ad featuring his cancer-surviving wife, Casey. Casey DeSantis has been nothing short of a dogged fighter and fierce advocate for Floridians; freedom as her governor husband. Take a look as she shows the other side of Ron:
Wow @CaseyDeSantis, powerful. Best ad of 2022 by far and not sure there is a close second. Incredible: pic.twitter.com/QWrmOoL7CL

I get asked all the time: Who is Ron DeSantis? Well he’s the kid who grew up right here in Florida, working his tail off, paying his own way through school, then volunteering to serve in the Navy and deploying to Iraq.
He’s the man who I fell in love with from the moment we met. And he’s the dad of three of three very rambunctious, energetic children; Mamie our two-year-old little comedian, Madison our beautiful sweet five year old, and Mason our four-year-old athlete.
But if you want to know who Ron DeSantis really is, when I was diagnosed with cancer, and I was facing the battle for my life, he was the dad who took care of my children when I couldn’t.He was there to pick me off of the ground when I literally could not stand. He was there to fight for me when I didn’t have the strength to fight for myself.
That is who Ron DeSantis is.
As of this writing, RealClearPolitics has DeSantis up 12.3% over his despicable rival Charlie Crist. All indications are DeSantis is cruising to a landslide victory. Deservedly so.
