In yet more utterly infuriating news out of the DC Swamp, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) revealed that she was trying to subpoena the immigration records of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) so that Omar’s alleged immigration fraud could be investigated, but a collection of Establishment Republican RINOs were working behind the scenes to stop that from happening. In fact, she revealed, they shut down the subpoena of Omar’s immigration records.
As background, reports have long circulated claiming that Ilhan Omar married her brother as a way of committing immigration fraud, a claim that Rep. Omar denies. President Trump commented on the matter in late 2025, leading it to receive increased scrutiny once again. He said, “Look at their nation. Look how bad their nation. It’s not even a nation, it’s just people walking around killing each other, they’ve taken billions and billions of dollars. They have a representative, Ilhan Omar, who they say married her brother. It’s a fraud.”
So, Republicans have been capitalizing on that by pressing to investigate Omar and her immigration status with the goal of, at the very least, exposing her fraud, and hopefully discovering something that could lead to her denaturalization and deportation. Amongst those leading the charge is Rep. Nancy Mace, who announced her effort to subpoena Ilhan Omar’s immigration records on January 7.
She said, “We are moving to subpoena Rep. Ilhan Omar and her brother/husband’s immigration records. The facts raise serious questions about potential federal marriage fraud, incest, polygamy, and tax fraud. The public deserves full transparency. If true, Ilhan Omar must be denaturalized and deported.”
Rep. Mace said, at the time, “These allegations, if true, raise grave concerns involving potential federal marriage fraud, immigration fraud, polygamy, incest, and tax violations. Knowingly entering into a marriage to evade U.S. immigration law is a felony punishable by prison time, substantial fines, denaturalization, and deportation. Marrying a sibling is illegal in every state. The American people deserve the truth about our elected officials.”
She further argued, “If there is nothing to hide, then full transparency should not be a problem. This Committee has a duty to investigate fraud, enforce the law equally, and ensure taxpayer dollars are not exploited by government officials. We intend to get to the bottom of this.” Watch her here:

However, that effort to hold Ilhan Omar accountable was stopped dead in its tracks, with Establishment Republican RINOs rather than Democrats being the ones to shut it down by refusing to green-light the subpoena of Ilhan Omar’s immigration records.
Explaining that infuriating aspect of the story on X, Rep. Mace said, “Recently, I tried to subpoena Ilhan Omar’s and her ‘alleged’ brother-husband’s immigration records. Republicans killed my motion. Two-tier system of justice. One big club and you aren’t in it.”
She also posted a video in which she was asked, “Congresswoman, where do we stand on the investigation into Ilhan Omar? Obviously, there’s some, you know, questions regarding her citizenship. She’s been referred to the Ethics Committee. Can we trust the Ethics Committee to actually be ethical and do the right thing?”
Mace responded by sounding off on those who have shielded Omar from accountability, saying, “Well, what’s happened so far? Like, really, I think the mark the remark is always, let the process play out right? That’s what they always say. And nothing ever, never happens. I tried to subpoena her immigration records, her brother, husband’s immigration records, and I was, it was Republicans that killed my motion.”
She then further added, when asked, “Yeah, and what’s going on with that? Do you have any more insight you can share on that?”, that the Uniparty is protecting its own. She said, “As far as I know, nothing’s going on and nothing that’s that’s Congress for you, because both sides protect the other.”
