Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), a former Navy SEAL, sat down for an interview with popular conservative pundit and podcast host Benny Johnson where he took Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) to the proverbial woodshed for her bad behavior. Crockett has a well-earned reputation for being crass and crude, especially when it comes to throwing shade at President Donald Trump and his supporters.
While giving an address at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles in March 2025, Crockett slammed Texas Republican Gov. Gregg Abbott, referring to him as “Governor Hot Wheels.” Abbott is in a wheelchair. As one might expect, conservatives and decent human beings of all political persuasions were deeply angered by the congresswoman’s insults, which some called “despicable.”
Crockett’s major beef with Abbott was over his efforts to bus illegal immigrants to major cities across the country that had sanctuary city policies, forcing them to put them into practice in an attempt to demonstrate in real-time the impossibility of providing adequate care for such individuals. The Texas Democrat tried to defend her comments about Abbott, saying she was not being critical of his medical condition, but of his policies.
In a video clip that has resurfaced, Johnson starts his conversation with Crane concerning Crockett by saying that most folks tried to give her the benefit of the doubt by believing she was simply doing some kind of comedy skit like you would see on Saturday Night Live. However, he mentions that not even SNL would dare to create a parody of her comments.
“We thought that what she’s done this week was very much an SNL skit. SNL would never dare parody it, so we’re going to do our best humble job of doing that. However, you shouldn’t like, attack reporters in the halls of Congress, right? You shouldn’t call people in wheelchairs ‘Hot Wheels.’ And you shouldn’t issue death threats to Elon Musk,” Johnson said in the clip.
The conservative podcaster then asked Crane if he thought that Republican lawmakers ought to take some kind of action to address Crockett’s behavior. “Do you think Republicans should, maybe, do something about that?” Crane responded, “It’s unfortunate to see, Benny. But you know, the bottom line is, it’s desperation. They don’t control the House, they don’t control the Senate, they don’t control the presidency.”
“So you’re seeing them lash out like little toddlers,” Crane continued. “And in a way, I think it’s great to have voices like Jasmine Crockett become the frontrunners for the Democratic Party because it just goes to show America that this is what they’re really like. This is what they’re about. They’re not about policies that make it easier for Americans, to make it safer for Americans. So I wish they would figure it out. I wish they would put Americans first, but politically, it’s great for us.”

Social media users shared their agreement with Crane and Johnson in the comments section. One individual wrote, “Jasmine Crockett is a complete disgrace.” Another went on to say, “She needs to be censured and ultimately removed from Congress.” A third commented, “That’s what I’m saying, please don’t stop her. Let these crazies tell America how they hate them.”
