WATCH: Pro-Gun Actor Shows Off His Shooting Skills

An awesome video recently posted to X (formerly Twitter) shows the famous actor between the series of movies best known for its intense gunplay, John Wick, showing off his firearm handling skills at Los Angeles’ Taran Tactical range. That actor, of course, is famed, pro-2nd Amendment actor Keanu Reeves.

In the epic video, Reeves fires a variety of tactical weapons, including an AR-15-style rifle, semi-automatic handgun, and semi-automatic shotgun, over different courses of fire on the range. Courses of fire allow a shooter to practice quickly engaging multiple targets behind varying levels of cover and concealment while also practicing shooting and moving and quickly changing the weapon’s magazines or reloading its shells, in the case of the shotgun he was using.

In the video, Reeves shows off the firearm handling skills that made the already famous actor known for his John Wick role, expertly moving forward through the courses of fire using different weapons and optics for those weapons.

Though mostly silent and out of the media, Reeves has commented on the gun issue. Speaking about gun control in a 2008 interview, Reeves said, “You mean should citizens be able to have a weapon? Yeah, why not? I am not fundamentally against citizens having access to a weapon, but I think that it has complications, the use of it. It’s probably not the wisest thing. Personally I don’t own a weapon.”

In that same interview, Reeves commented on why he likes playing the anti-hero, saying, “They are good to play. What are they looking for? What do they want? Sometimes what they do is heroic or comes with a price or sacrifice or, maybe the way they do it isn’t so great. That’s when they become an antihero. But that journey with that story is, done well, worthwhile.”

Reeves isn’t the only Hollywood actor to have a very different stance on gun control than most of his peers. Conserative actor Kurt Russell, speaking about gun control, said, “If you think gun control is going to change the terrorists’ point of view, I think you’re, like, out of your mind. I think anybody [who says that] is. I think it’s absolutely insane.”

He continued, “The problem, the problem that we’re having right now to turn it around…you may think you’ve got me worried about what you’re gonna do? Dude, you’re about to find out what I’m gonna do, and that’s gonna worry you a lot more.”

He then said, “And that‘s what we need. That will change the concept of gun culture, as you call it, to something [like] reality. Which is, if I’m a hockey team and I’ve got some guy bearing down on me as a goaltender, I’m not concerned about what he’s gonna do — I’m gonna make him concerned about what I’m gonna do to stop him. That’s when things change.”
