WATCH: President Trump Spotlights Families Who Have Lost Children Due to the Ravages of Open Borders during “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” Event

While speaking at a recent White House event, President Trump, flanked by angel families, demanded that Congress pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to strengthen border security and prevent tragedies caused by illegal immigration.

For context, during his remarks, Trump called Biden’s open border policies “sick” and honored victims like Katie Abraham, who was killed by an illegal immigrant. Echoing these comments, Border Czar Tom Homan expressed his frustration over the victims of mass migration.

During his remarks, he promised that there would be “No more families … victimized” by illegal immigrants and open border policies. Building on this point, he described Biden’s weak immigration stance as “sick,” before pivoting to the BBB, which he described as “the single most important piece of border legislation ever to cross the floor of Congress. Our bill provides billions and billions of dollars to stop fentanyl and other illicit narcotics.”

At this point, Trump pivoted to Katie Abraham’s family, saying,  “We will end this invasion once and for all. And we’re always going to remember the memory of Katie, that beautiful, beautiful 20-year-old daughter of yours.”

Adding his reactions, Tom Homan, Trump’s Border Czar, slammed the open borders agenda, saying, “I get irritated. I get pissed off because I’m sick of meeting angel moms and dads. You want to talk about family separation? They bury their children.”

As we reported, the Trump Administration has been attempting to deport Alexander Alfredo Palacios Guevara, a Salvadoran Surenos gang member and illegal immigrant with convictions for murder, but was able to maintain his freedom by invoking a Biden-era Deferral of Removal under the Convention Against Torture (CAT).

Explaining the case, an ICE spokesman said, “This criminal alien should never have been roaming the streets of Los Angeles. Not only is he a member of the ruthless Surenos gang, but he also has multiple convictions for murder, assault and rape or sexual abuse of a minor.”

Adding to the official statement, the spokesman added, “A highly unusual Biden-era legal decision from December allowed this dangerous criminal to live in American communities. Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are removing public safety threats as it always should have been.”

Adding his own reaction, Bill Melugin, a journalist embedded with ICE on the day of Guevara’s arrest, said, “We were with ICE & HSI Los Angeles as they arrested a Salvadoran alien w/ an active deportation order who has convictions for murder & attempted murder in LA County, but ICE may not be able to deport him due to a protection he got in the final days of the Biden admin.”

Explaining the complicated legal situation, Melugin added, “Guevara had been granted what’s known as ‘DCAT’, or Deferred Removal under the Convention Against Torture, meaning he can’t be deported to his home country because he fears he will be tortured there.”

Concluding the report, he declared, “ICE, under the Trump admin, is outraged that a decision under the Biden admin is currently stopping them from deporting a convicted murderer & alleged gang member who has a final deportation order & received his due process.”
