Speaking during a total freakout of a broadcast on Tuesday, December 2, during an appearance on MS NOW’s “Deadline” show alongside Nicolle Wallace, MS NOW host Rachel Maddow totally freaked out over Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s handling of strikes on drug boats in the Caribbean Sea, declaring that Hegseth will have to resign.
As background, part of the Trump Administration’s efforts to stop the flow of fentanyl into America has been bombing drug boats in the Caribbean Sea, blowing the boats carrying vast amounts of fentanyl from Venezuela into America up before the deadly drug can reach our shores. As fentanyl kills more Americans every year than died in all of the Vietnam War, many see the bombings as a much-needed step to protect the American people from what amounts to chemical warfare.
Democrats, however, have been freaking out over the strikes and declaring them illegal. Most recently, that has taken the form of them declaring that Hegseth’s handling of the matter is unacceptable because one boat was bombed twice, and claims that obvious drug boats were just fishing boats.
Such is what sent Maddow into her freakout on MS NOW. Beginning, the woke and berserk host declared that the Trump Administration is trying to spark a war with Venezuela, saying, “I don’t understand why we’re going to war with Venezuela, and I’m not sure the administration is even bothered to try to come up with anything, even internally coherent.”
Continuing, she insisted that the direction the boats were pointed at the moment they were blown up was determinative of where the drugs were ultimately headed, and thus that blowing them up was wrong, saying, “So what are we doing there in the first place? Why are we blowing out of the water and killing people in boats with outboard motors, some of which aren’t even pointed towards the United States, let alone verified to have drugs on them.”
Adding to that, the angry host insisted that Coast Guard personnel should be put at risk to help make sure the drug smugglers stay safe, saying, “Let alone even if they did, if they were coming to the United States and they had the capacity to reach the United States, and they were filled with drugs, why isn’t it possible to just interdict them the way that we do with the Coast Guard.”
She further insisted that the drug smugglers deserve the immense expense and time it takes to drag them into court, declaring, “Where you go and take the drugs and then put those people on trial and investigate and then follow the drugs to their source of origin and then take care of it?”

Then, most bizarrely, Maddow insisted that the whole thing is Hegseth’s fault and that Republicans will make him resign, saying, “It’s a catastrophe. I think Pete Hegseth, it’s impossible to imagine that he survives this as Secretary of Defense. I think he must resign, and I think Republicans will ask for that ultimately once they investigate this.”
