“Watch Paint Dry Instead”: AOC’s New Climate Change Documentary Embarrassingly Flops at Box Office

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a knack for embarrassing herself in public forums, whether she’s getting booed out of her own town hall or, this time, horrifically flopping at the box office on her new climate change documentary.

Unsurprisingly, “To The End”, has scored an 83% on the critic score at Rotten Tomatoes despite a complete lack of interest from the audience. According to Fox News Nikolas Lanum, “To The End” suffered through a terrible opening weekend.

“The documentary debuted on more than 120 screens over the weekend but garnered less than $10,000 dollars across all theaters, coming in 33rd place overall at the box office.”

That averages out to less than $85 per screen that showed the film. Finishing 33rd at the box office sounds about right for AOC, one of the most obnoxious people in Washington. It’s only a matter of time until she blames inherent biases and sexism on the film’s poor performance. Maybe all the people who didn’t watch “To The End” really just want to date her.

On the film’s website, this description is offered.

“Filmed over four years of hope and crisis, To the End captures the emergence of a new generation of leaders and the movement behind the most sweeping climate change legislation in U.S. history. The award-winning team behind Knock Down the House follows four exceptional young women— Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, activist Varshini Prakash, climate policy writer Rhiana Gunn-Wright, and political strategist Alexandra Rojas— as they grapple with new challenges of leadership and power and work together to defend their generation’s right to a future. From street protests to the halls of Congress, these bold leaders fight to shift the narrative around climate, revealing the crisis as an opportunity to build a better society. Including up-to-the-minute footage that culminates in 2022’s landmark climate bill, To the End  lifts the veil on the battle for the future of our world, and gives audiences a front seat view of history in the making.”

After reading that, there is no wonder why “To The End” got demolished by films like “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “Violent Night”, and “Strange World.”

Audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes seem to carry that same sentiment, that they regret ever stepping into the theater to watch AOC’s documentary.

“I watched this movie not realizing what it was. I think they realized that if they put it on Netflix or something you could just turn it off. It was the worst movie I think I’ve ever seen. It was worse than a super low budget scarry movie. I’d rather watch a Michael Moore film than be subjected to that again!” – Franklin P

“The vapid narcissism and utter hubris of the four featured personalities is unbearable. There is so very little substance in this film, it begs the question who would actually finance a project like this? Do yourself a favor and watch paint dry instead.” – Josh M
