A nurse says a colleague delayed pain medication for a severely injured attack victim because he was wearing a MAGA hat, prompting a report to hospital management. In the video, the speaker describes a patient who had been stabbed and beaten with a bat, suffering compound fractures in both legs. The nurse alleges that the colleague made a remark about the patient’s political attire before leaving his medication unadministered. The speaker says the incident led to taking over his care despite already having six other patients.
The nurse, who identifies as “Shiesty Nurse,” describes working as a traveling nurse at a teaching hospital. According to the account, the patient was receiving blood and was classified as a level-one trauma patient. The speaker cites seven years in nursing, including six in trauma emergency care, and says this was the first time it had been necessary to formally report another nurse. The patient’s injuries included broken bones protruding from his legs, according to the account.
While describing the medication delay, the “Shiesty Nurse” quotes the colleague as saying, “Well, he can wait with his f—ing MAGA hat on. He can wait for his pain meds with his f—ing MAGA hat on.” The nurse says the initial assumption was that the colleague was making an offensive comment without intending to act on it.
In the video posted to X, the nurse says Dilaudid had been ordered for the patient. According to the account, an attending physician subsequently called for stronger pain treatment after approximately an hour. The speaker recalls the physician saying, “He has bilateral compound fractures. Up the dose, up the ante, and give him fentanyl.”
The nurse alleges that the colleague ate and attended to other patients while the injured man laid in the bed and waited. “I watched her for two hours,” the speaker says. The account also alleges neglect beyond the pain medication, with the nurse describing an offer to assume responsibility: “I said if you’re conflicted, I can take over.”
The speaker says nurses who believe a personal bias is interfering with an assignment should immediately approach their charge nurse and request a change. Describing the response to this incident, the nurse says, “I wrote an entire statement. I involve management.” The speaker also announces an intention to contact the state nursing board and seek the colleague’s suspension.

The video includes a warning to Republican patients about wearing political apparel while seeking treatment. The speaker also insists that patients should receive care regardless of their affiliation, saying, “Leave your politics at home.” Describing the obligation to treat people impartially, the nurse adds, “My politics does not affect my job.” The nurse says that approach has included caring for people whose beliefs were personally objectionable, citing treatment provided to Ku Klux Klan members. According to the account, that care resulted in a thank-you message on the hospital’s website.
Returning to the injured patient, the speaker says, “I basically took over the patient when I had six of my own already because that’s the right thing to do.” The nurse closes by expressing frustration at having to report a fellow nurse and hoping the colleague changes her conduct. “I hate that I have to report another nurse,” the speaker said, adding, “But she would do it to me if it was if the roles were reversed.” The nurse closed with, “God bless you and God bless America.”
