Independent investigative journalist Nick Shirley recently sat down for an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham where he dropped a massive bombshell. According to Shirley, foreign fraudsters, along with various mafias, are making a killing — no pun intended — off the backs of American taxpayers in New York City under Democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Shirley first rose to prominence by posting a YouTube video in December 2025 that exposed massive fraud in Minneapolis, Minnesota involving the Somali community. In the video, Shirley visited a number of alleged daycare facilities, all of them run by Somalians who were billing federal and state medical programs and pocketing the money, all the while providing no actual services.
Many of the facilities Shirley visited had very few, if any, students or children on the premises. Signs were misspelled and the centers seemed largely defunct, despite the fact they were making money. Oftentimes, those running these scams offer financial kickbacks to friends and family members to sign up their kids for the services they claim to provide.
Shirley has taken his mission to expose fraud to several other states, including California and New York. During his conversation with Ingraham, Shirley spoke of the work he’s currently doing in Flushing, Queens involving fraud connected to adult daycares. “So in Flushing, Queens, in this area, you have these adult daycares. They’re like playdate centers for seniors,” he told Ingraham.
“Yeah, so if they don’t want to be alone in their house, and they’re picked up at their home and taken to this center,” the Fox News host responded. Shirley confirmed Ingraham’s explanation and went on to state that taxpayers are the ones who often pay for the centers and programs. All the while pharmacies are built and established all around the area where the centers are located.
“Exactly, and we pay for it. And then right around them, they have all these pharmacies set up. They have all these durable medical equipment companies set up, and it’s just like this big racket where they start billing all these people with these medical beneficiary numbers from these seniors, from these adult daycares, and because they make so much money from Medicaid, they’re then able to give kickbacks to the seniors,” Shirley explained.
“So you have these Korean and Chinese mafias, quite literally, looting the government from Medicaid and then giving the kickbacks to the seniors,” the independent journalist stated. “So wait, the old people get the money themselves?” Ingraham asked. Shirley explained how seniors are getting paid through referral programs.

“Well, they make these. They make so much money. These pharmacies and these little daycares that they then have a little referral program set up for these seniors. So it’s like bringing in a friend. We’ll give you 100 bucks. Thank you for coming. Here’s your $25,” he added. Ingraham then said, “When you see this, and it’s so pervasive, what can be done to put an end to this?”
“Because this seems like the biggest entrepreneurial activity of of you know of certain immigrant classes now. I mean, this is a big business for the immigrant community,” she said. “Yeah, it’s for entrepreneurship,” Shirley quipped. “For entrepreneurs,” Ingraham repeated, which closed out the video clip of the interview, which has made quite a splash on social media.
