WATCH: National Guard Troopers Spotted Arriving in DC as Trump’s Crackdown on Crime Begins

Dramatic footage has captured National Guardsmen rolling into DC after President Trump federalized local law enforcement and called in the troops to suppress a rising tide of violence. In the video, dozens of soldiers can be seen organizing themselves and preparing for their operations.

For context, on August 11, 2025, Trump announced his intention to put an end to the violence plaguing the capital city, earning him widespread support from both conservatives and city residents disturbed by the lawlessness. However, cynical leftists, along with several city officials, have used the decision to dishonorably cast Trump as an authoritarian leader.

In any case, before the decision was officially made, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro described the conditions that prove that the local leadership is incompetent. As we reported, she announced, “Young people are coddled, and they don’t need to be coddled anymore. They need to be held accountable. They shouldn’t be going to arts and crafts and Family Court. They need to understand that enough is enough and that the DC Council must repeal some of these absurd ordinances and laws that have been passed, as they do nothing to protect the people of this city and district. ”

Adding more context, Pirro explained, “All I want to do is clean up DC. That’s why the President put me here. And youth crime is on the rise. In the last four years, we’ve had 150,000 cases of youth violence. Okay, it’s four years ago now. It’s close to half a million cases of youth violence. We’ve got DC as one of the highest murder rates in the country.”

However, despite the apparent problem, leftist politicians and activists have refused to see reason. Cynically advocating for her own power, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser whined, “My message to residents is this. We know that access to our democracy is tenuous. That is why you have heard me and many Washingtonians before me advocate for full statehood.”

Likewise, infamous race-baiter and progressive ideologue Reverend Al Sharpton slammed the decision to send in the National Guard. He declared, “Donald Trump was inspired to take this disgusting, dangerous, and derogatory action solely out of self-interest. Let’s call the inspiration for this assault on a majority Black city for what it is: another bid to distract his angry, frustrated base over his administration’s handling of the Epstein files.”

Despite this opposition, Trump has remained resolute and offered iron-clad support for his decision. The president noted how the”City government’s failure to maintain public order and safety” and crime rates posed “intolerable risks to the vital Federal functions that take place in the District of Columbia.”

In another statement, Trump declared, “Washington, D.C. will be LIBERATED today! Crime, Savagery, Filth, and Scum will DISAPPEAR. I will, MAKE OUR CAPITAL GREAT AGAIN! The days of ruthlessly killing, or hurting, innocent people, are OVER! I quickly fixed the Border (ZERO ILLEGALS in last 3 months!), D.C. is next!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
