WATCH: MSNBC’s Maddow Attacks “Disgusting” Trump for Honoring Young Boy Cancer Survivor

In one of the more horrific follow-ups to the Democrats refusing to cheer for the young boy who was honored by President Donald Trump with an honorary Secret Service role during the March 4 State of the Union Address, a boy who has been fighting cancer for 6 years and for whom Democrats neither stood nor applauded, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow attacked Trump for honoring the boy.

Particularly, Maddow, speaking shortly after the incident and address generally, attacked the praise for the young boy led by Trump, something meant to be a sweet moment and to which the boy obviously agreed, as being “disgusting.” She snapped that Trump “made a spectacle out of praising a young man who thus far survived pediatric cancer.”

Doing so, Maddow pretended to now care about inflation after spending years under President Biden downplaying the issues. She said, “For the record, the worst inflation in this country was in 1980. For the record, the economy that he was left by President Biden was not a catastrophe. It was literally the best economy in the world and was described by the Economist Magazine as the envy of the world.”

Continuing, she lied and pretended that Trump is attacking Social Security rather than trying to cut fraud out of it, saying, “That was the economy that was left to Donald Trump by Joe Biden. For the record, Social Security is not paying benefits in large numbers to 300-year-old people or 250-year-old people, or 200-year-old people, or 150-year-old people. In fact, the idea of Social Security is a bastion of massive fraud, and overpayment is completely false.”

She then attacked Trump’s pro-domestic manufacturing stance, saying, “For the record, U.S. auto company CEOs are not psyched and delighted and so excited about President Trump’s economic policies, including his tariffs. Take, for example, the CEO of Ford, Jim Farley, who said that Trump’s tariff policies would, quote, blow a hole in the us auto industry. That, quote, we’ve never seen.”

Still not done, Maddow clutched her pearls about Trump not giving Zelensky everything he wants, saying, “The president flat out lied about us versus European spending to support what used to be our allies in Ukraine. The U.S. has committed about $125 billion to Ukraine’s defense. Europe has committed about $259 billion. ”

She then made a convoluted point about respective American and European allyship with the Ukrainians, saying, “The president radically, radically misstating the character and quantity of our relative support for what used to be our ally, now appears to be only Europe’s ally and no longer ours.”

It was then that Maddow lost it over Trump’s honoring the young boy. She said, commenting on the sweet moment, “For the record, and this is disgusting. The president made a spectacle out of praising a young man who thus far survived pediatric cancer as if the president had something to do with that.”

Concluding, she attacked Trump for praising DOGE’s cuts and lied about what care is being cut off by DOGE eliminating waste and fraud, snapping, “This was in the midst of him praising DOGE. The DOGE cuts, among other things, have cut off funding for ongoing research into pediatric cancer.” Watch her here:
