WATCH: MSNBC Reveals that Eric Swalwell Could Run for Governor of California

As the controversial Proposition 50’s redistricting campaign wraps up, potential Democratic gubernatorial candidates are eying their competitors. For example, Rep. Eric Swalwell, an Infamous figure, has drawn interest from donors, with some praising his “brass balls” leadership and offering support if he proves superior.

Eyeing a possible presidential run, Gavin Newsom will not make another bid for office, leaving the leadership of California wide open for Democrats. While some early frontrunners have fallen, Swalwell, who has had a long-running feud with the president, appears to be gaining momentum.

In any case, a recent segment on MSNBC exposed the Democrats’ scheme. “Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell is eyeing a new gig, governor of California, according to sources familiar who were granted anonymity by MSNBC to speak freely,” the network reported.

Continuing, the same source revealed, “Swalwell has all but decided to trade his decade in Congress for a seat in Sacramento, the big seat out there. The news could be made official as soon as next week, if so, it will come as multiple outlets report the Trump administration referred Swalwell for a federal criminal investigation.”

However, some donors, such as Stephen J. Cloobeck, were enthusiastic about his candidacy. He declared,  “I’ve said: Woke is weak. We need brass balls. We need leadership, proven leadership. Eric certainly has demonstrated that… If I can find a better candidate, I will back a better candidate… If Eric’s that candidate, they will get my full throttle balance sheet and intellectual capital and experience.”

Echoing these comments, Lisa Tucker, a Swalwell consultant, made it clear that “Many individuals and organizations have reached out to the Congressman about the race for governor. Right now, he is focused on the special election and passage of Prop 50.”

However, Swalwell has recently come under scrutiny for allegedly lying on a mortgage application and may soon face criminal charges. Reacting to the indictment, he whined, “As the most vocal critic of Donald Trump over the last decade and as the only person who still has a surviving lawsuit against him, the only thing I am surprised about is that it took him this long to come after me.”

Doubling down, he alleged, “Like James Comey and John Bolton, Adam Schiff and Lisa Cook, Letitia James and the dozens more to come – I refuse to live in fear in what was once the freest country in the world. Of course, I will not end my lawsuit against him. And I will not stop speaking out against the President and speaking up for Californians.”

    Watch the clip here:

Continuing his screed with a pathetic quip, the Democrat responded, “As Mark Twain said, ‘Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.’ Mr. President, do better. Be better.”

Finally concluding his screed, the Congressman stated, “It’s all nonsense. It’s not going to shake me. The other individuals, Schiff, James, (Lisa) Cook and myself, we’re not going to hide under the bed, we’re not going to be silent or go away — we’re going to hold a lawless president accountable.”
