WATCH: MSNBC Host on “Morning Joe” Slams the State of the Democratic Party

Following President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, Democrats are being forced to reevaluate the state of their party as it has become clear their rhetoric is divorced from the interests of average Americans.  During a recent segment on MSNBC segment, a co-host blasted the Democratic Party for lacking “common sense.”

Citing an example the left phasing out the term “homeless” in recent years, the pundit argued that there is a broader departure from common sense among Democrats.  “The Democrat Party right now seems to have raced away—quite swiftly and quite effectively—from the concept of common sense… they have changed labels that mystify people as normal homeless people in America, there are the unhoused now, things like that, and they seem not able to go back to common sense,” he said.

Users on social media reacted in agreement, pointing out that conservatives have realized this for years, where the mainstream media is finally coming around to reality.  “Dems abandoned common sense a long time ago. They’ve been hijacked by the radical left…and their woke agenda will continue to turn Americans away from them. This is great for conservatives Americans. The Dems are ostracizing themselves!” one person commented.

As it it became painfully clear to Democrats that the current messaging isn’t working following Vice President Harris’, there have been increasing calls for a reevaluation in the Democrat Party.  Democratic strategist and CNN contributor Julie Roginsky recently echoed this “common sense” sentiment that attracts many voters.

During a recent CNN segment she said, “You know, I’m going to speak some hard truths to my friends in the Democratic Party. This is not Joe Biden’s fault. It’s not Kamala Harris fault. It’s not Barack Obama’s fault. It is the fault of the Democratic Party in not knowing how to communicate effectively to voters. We are not the party of common sense, which is the message that voters sent to us. For a number of reasons, for a number of reasons, we don’t know how to speak to voters.”

Roginsky continued, “When normal people look at that and say, “Wait a second, I send my kids to college so they can learn, not so that they can burn buildings and trash lawns,” right? And so on and so forth. When we put pronouns after names and say she/her, as opposed to saying, “You know what, if I call you by the wrong pronoun, call me out, I’m sorry, I won’t do it again,” but stop with the virtue signaling and just speak to people like they’re normal.”

She later said, “I’ve been banging the drum on this for I don’t know how, probably ten years, if not longer, on this. We need to get back to being the party of common sense that people look at us and say, we understand you, we appreciate what you say because you speak our language. And until we do that, we should stop blaming other people for our own mistakes.”
