Recent footage shows country music superstar Morgan Wallen walking out to a concert while wearing a custom Kansas City Chiefs jersey with the number of Harrison Butker, the team’s professional kicker who has sparked a substantial backlash from the left after his public expressions of faith and conservative values.
The video shows Wallen walking into the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, sporting the number 7 jersey with NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Chris Jones behind him. Reportedly, It’s important to note that the jersey was not an official Harrison Butker jersey, as photos from the concert show Wallen’s name on the back, indicating it was a custom jersey.
While it’s not confirmed if Wallen’s decision to wear the number was a nod to the conservative kicker, reports seem to indicate that it was not well-received by Taylor Swift fans given that the country singer was seen with the pop icon’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce. “Swiftes heads are exploding,” one person wrote on X, referring to the loyal fans of Swift’s.
Some conservatives and Christians on social media interpreted the move as Wallen showing his support for Butker and perhaps acknowledging an affinity toward Christianity. One person commented, “Praise Jesus. I’m finding more people around the world are coming to Jesus now. It’s an incredible sight. We are in end of times now would be the a great time to get yourself close to Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.”
However, others have taken a different stance, pointing out that it was a custom jersey with the singer’s name on it, not Butker’s. Apparently, Wallen often wears the number seven to commemorate his former high school baseball number. “Wallen often wears custom No. 7 jerseys at his concerts, because it was his baseball number from his high school playing days at Gibbs High School in Tennessee. It says WALLEN on the back NOT “Butker”!” another person opined.
The American Tribune has extensively reported on Harrison Butker’s bold expression of his Catholic faith and his unwillingness to back down in the face of harsh criticism. Earlier this year, Butker appeared at Benedictine College, where he delivered a commencement speech that drew on Christian values and urged women to consider family life over a career.
During his speech, Butker said, “For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.”

He added, “How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”
