In a bizarre rant, even for the controversial Democrat, Rep. Maxine Waters (CA), made a series of absurd comments about the violent riots that have been plaguing Los Angeles. Waters claimed that there was no violence during these riots and that Trump’s decision to call in the National Guard was inappropriate, which earned her the condemnation of online conservatives.
For context, since June 6, 2025, violent anti-ICE protestors have plagued LA and many other cities. In response to dramatic scenes of violence and chaos, Trump decided to call on the National Guard and Marines to restore order. However, Democrats chose to use the protest to attack President Trump, showing a callous disregard for the law.
Starting her unhinged remarks, the Democrat ranted, “Protest, and even those who were out of step with what we are advocating, peaceful protest did not create any violence. Nobody was shot, nobody was killed. Get it in your head. And so when martial law is called, what are you going to say?”
Making an absurd argument that is easily proven false by a simple examination of the news, she continued, “Don’t miss the point. You all don’t think that somehow, because they called out the National Guard, there was violence. There was no violence.”
Concluding her remarks, Waters claimed, “I was on the street, I know, and I went from downtown detention back out into the community, talking to people, what happened in Paramount, what happened in Compton, what happened in Inglewood. So first of all, get it straight, and don’t just rely on what you’re being told or the few incidents that you saw.”
In the comments under a clip of Maxine Waters’ absurd statement, conservatives mocked the Democrat for her wild accusations. Enraged, one user said, “Here are a few of the “non-violent” activities that were caught on live streams the past few days:- Throwing Molotov cocktails- Throwing rocks and chunks of cement at officers vehicles and even at their heads- Throwing and aiming fireworks at law enforcement – Burning Waymos and random cars (aka arson)…- Almost running people over and (allegedly) brandishing a firearm in the process – Sheriffs found a firearm in the suspect’s vehicle. Since these activites are “non-violent”, could someone please describe what is violent?”
Continuing the online embarrassment, another user wrote, “I guess she doesn’t know: In California, burglary Penal Code (PC) 459 is entering a building, room, or locked vehicle with the intent to commit theft. First-degree burglary, which is always a felony, involves entering an inhabited dwelling with that intent robing a store, arson !”

Explaining exactly how wrong she was, one eagle-eyed conservative noted, “These are violent crimes and Felonies! There should be an IQ test for Congressmen/women and no one believes her. we can all see what the violent rioters are doing.”

Describing the dangerous criminals apprehended by immigration authorities, one commenter noted, “ICE was detaining several individuals in Los Angeles when the riots began. Hernandez-Buitron, 43, is a citizen of Peru. He has a criminal history that includes a robbery conviction that resulted in a ten-year sentence…Tooy, 48, is a citizen of Indonesia. He has a criminal history that includes convictions for narcotics, DUI and illegal entry,…These are the people the rioters are fighting for. Think about that.”
