While much of the MAGA base is at least somewhat skeptical of the latest round of strikes and potential war in the Islamic Republic of Iran, many members of the Iranian diaspora around the country have taken to the streets to celebrate the strikes on the despised Islamist leadership of the country, with some revelers even doing the Trump YMCA dance to celebrate.
As background, the strikes began over what was, in America, the night of February 27 to 28, with the American and Israeli military forces carrying out massive and targeted strikes across the country on Iranian political and military leadership, along with key assets like the Iranian Navy’s larger ships, the Iranian Air Force, anti-aircraft radar and missile installations, and ballistic missile launchers.
The response from the MAGA base was a mix of skepticism at the necessity of another foreign fight mixed with admiration at the restoration of American military competence and strength under President Trump, as, whether good and necessary or not, the strikes were admirably well carried out. The left’s reaction was much more negative, but members of the Iranian diaspora responded with glee.
In fact, some stunning videos from around America showed huge numbers of rally attendees showing up to cheer the decision to bomb the Islamist leadership of Iran. At one incident in Austin, Texas, that quickly went viral online, the response was so overwhelmingly pro-Trump that CBS Austin tried to stop the reporter it had sent to cover the rally from doing so.
In another moment, this one from the normally very anti-Trump city of Los Angeles, it meant that a vast number of Iranian diaspora members were seen carrying banners and celebrating President Trump, including by doing his famous YMCA dance. That awesome footage was captured by Fox News Channel’s Matt Finn, check it out here:

Similarly, at a rally in New York City outside the United Nations, a crowd of what appeared to be Iranian diaspora members cheered the president’s decision and chanted “U-S-A” and “President Trump, We Love You!” while calling for an end of Iran’s Islamist regime. Watch that here:
Commenting during a celebratory rally in Winnipeg, an Iranian named Shervin Shahidian told the CBC, “I think most of the Iranian people back home and in diaspora that you have seen from Munich to Toronto to L.A. … were asking for Trump’s support.” He added, “Are we in a war and people are feeling afraid of the war? No. Actually, people are thinking that this is the way of the liberation that is happening for Iranian people.”
Similarly, at the same rally, another rallygoer named Nafiseh Kiamanesh told the CBC, “We are so thankful to President Trump and Bibi Netanyahu. We were under this regime for 47 years, and literally all this time we have tried all the ways that were possible, and every time the regime killed our people, there were protests.”
While most Democrats were generally negative about the Operation Epic Fury strikes, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) took to X to support President Trump’s decision, saying, “Operation Epic Fury. President Trump has been willing to do what’s right and necessary to produce real peace in the region. God bless the United States, our great military, and Israel.”
