Maria Bartiromo broke her silence with a cryptic promise to return following her sudden departure from Fox News Media. The veteran television host thanked her supporters for an “outpouring of love” but didn’t disclose where she is heading next. Fox says Bartiromo is no longer with the network, while her attorney had strongly disputed reports that she was fired.
The message surfaced one week after Fox announced that Bartiromo’s more than 12-year run with the company had ended. A video circulating on X combined her new social media statement with past remarks about reputation and doing the right thing. It also examined the growing speculation surrounding her next move and the conflicting accounts of how her relationship with Fox ended.
The clip opened with Bartiromo discussing the value of protecting a hard-earned reputation. “The only thing that follows you wherever you go, wherever in the world, whatever industry, is your reputation,” she said. “So you have to cherish it and protect it.” The remark took on added significance amid the unanswered questions surrounding her abrupt disappearance from the network’s lineup.
According to the video posted on X, Bartiromo shared photographs of rainbows, flowers, a beach, and her rescue dog, Dusty, alongside a brief message to her supporters. “Before too much time passes, I want to thank all of my friends, followers, and supporters for all of the kind words,” she wrote. “I am so grateful for the outpouring of love this past week on social media & through texts. I love you all and I promise to be back soon w my next moves.”
Fox News Media announced on September 3rd that Bartiromo was “no longer with” the company, effective immediately. The network thanked her for 12 and a half years of contributions and wished her well but didn’t provide a reason for the separation. Bartiromo had hosted “Mornings with Maria,” “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” and “Sunday Morning Futures” across Fox Business and Fox News.
The precise nature of the split remains disputed. Bartiromo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, called reports that she had been fired “irresponsible and unequivocally false,” according to the video. “We have the receipts and witnesses,” Freedman added, signaling that the host’s camp may have more to say about the circumstances surrounding her departure.
The video also referenced reports alleging that Bartiromo was removed after leaking internal network information to members of the Trump administration. Those allegations have not been publicly substantiated, and neither Fox nor Bartiromo has provided a detailed account of what happened. The clip showed one of Bartiromo’s beach photographs while speculating that it may have been taken in the Hamptons, though it didn’t establish when or where the image was actually captured.

The narrator said some fans had floated the possibility of Bartiromo launching an independent program or podcast, while others speculated about a potential role in the Trump administration. The video noted that several former Fox personalities currently serve in the administration, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. Bartiromo has not announced any such plan, saying only that she’ll return soon with her “next moves.”

President Donald Trump also defended Bartiromo after Fox announced her exit, calling her a “total professional” and a “true warrior.” The video closed with another past statement from Bartiromo that appeared particularly pointed in light of the dispute. “I always tell younger generations coming behind me: Do the right thing,” she said. “Don’t try to do the right thing. Don’t say you’re going to do the right thing. When that dilemma comes at you, you know what the right thing is. Do it.”
