Former Trump critic and billionaire Ken Langone has made a complete 180 and now wholeheartedly supports the president. While he was initially skeptical of Trump’s tariffs and leadership, he declared, “I am sold on Trump.”
During his remarks, Langone praised Trump’s decisive economic policies and brave foreign policy decisions. He specifically drew attention to the June 2025 airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and noted the high morale among American workers.
In any case, the co-founder of Home Depot began his remarks by expressing his worries that Trump would spend his time in office “to engage in retribution.” Reacting to these concerns, Langone said, “I’m happy to say that I’m comfortable he’s not doing that. He’s acting presidential. I’m impressed with the people he’s got around him.”
Pivoting to his newfound hope, the billionaire added, “Like it or not, this guy’s getting things done.” Describing his feelings, Langone said, “If I told you how bullish I was…I have never been more excited about the future of America than I am right now, right this minute.”
The businessman, who serves as the chairman of NYU Langone’s board of trustees, was especially happy about Trump’s actions in support of Israel. The former never-Trumper admitted, “I’m very vocal about it because so much in my life has revolved around Jews, all the good – doctors, friends, business partners, you name it.”
Although he tempered his remarks by expressing his confusion at Jewish voters who support Democrats, saying, “I don’t even understand the Jews sometimes. Thirty percent of Jewish voters voted for this guy [Mamdani] last week in New York. After what he said? I mean, give me a break.”
Recounting a conversation with one of the pilots who participated in the Iranian strike, the billionaire said, “One of the pilots on that miraculous trip to Iran that we wiped out, whatever the hell we wiped out, he said, ‘You’re the only guy in the presidency that would have done what you did.’ And you know what? He’s probably right.”

However, the retail magnate still opposed Trump’s tariffs. He reacted, “I believe he’s been poorly advised by his advisers about this trade situation — and the formula they’re applying..Forty-six percent on Vietnam? Come on. You might as well tell them, ‘Don’t even bother calling.’”
That said, Langone was humble enough to admit that he had been wrong about Trump. He admitted, “I am sold on Trump … I think he’s got a good shot at going down in history as one of our best presidents ever. When you made a mistake, admit it. I don’t understand the goddamn formula.”
Reacting to recent economic wins, the president took to Truth Social to take a victory lap. He posted, “The United States of America has been ripped off on TRADE (and MILITARY!), by friend and foe, alike, for DECADES. It has come at a cost of TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS, and it is just not sustainable any longer – And never was!”

Concluding his remarks, the president added, “Countries should sit back and say, ‘Thank you for the many year’s long free ride, but we know you now have to do what’s right for America.’ We should respond by saying, ‘Thank you for understanding the situation we are in. Greatly appreciated!’”
