Video footage of a man at an anti-ICE protest spitting on an officer and immediately getting arrested is now making its way across social media, highlighting how out of control leftist protesters are becoming following a fatal shooting in Minneapolis. In the clip, a man wearing a red and blue winter hat, grey t-shirt over an orange long-sleeved shirt, can be seen walking by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
A few seconds later, you can hear the man yell, “You disgust me!” followed by a woman saying that the man spit on an ICE agent. Officers then move on the man, taking him into custody, as other protesters seemingly defend his vile actions. Some have correctly pointed out that the reason the man was arrested is because in most places, spitting on someone is considered a form of assault.
Many have also noted that this kind of violent behavior toward law enforcement officials has been on the rise ever since President Donald Trump started boots-on-the-ground operations to enforce immigration law and deport criminal illegals back to their countries of origin. The disdain of immigration officials attempting to do their job is heating up even more following the shooting of a woman in Minneapolis who allegedly tried to use her vehicle to run over an agent.
According to Breitbart, the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association put out a statement Wednesday night, following the tragic incident, slamming “reckless rhetoric” against law enforcement officers coming from lawmakers who wasted no time tossing out opposition to ICE and other agencies. Homeland Security has stated that the woman “weaponized her vehicle” going on to add, “An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.”
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, a Democrat, responded to the shooting by telling ICE, “We do not want you here…” before going on to tell the agency “get the f**k out of Minneapolis.” Frey also claimed that ICE is the cause of the mass chaos unfolding in the city. Similar anti-ICE rhetoric came from embattled Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz who referred to protesting immigration enforcement officers as a “patriotic duty at this point in time.”
The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association issued a warning about such language, saying, “Irresponsible, reckless rhetoric from political leaders attacking law enforcement has real & dangerous consequences for officers on the street.” To further illustrate the point, not long after the shooting, protesters showed up at the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building, where agents had to use pepper spray and other types of irritants to move crowds back from the building. Pepper balls were also deployed as protesters clashed with law enforcement officers early in the morning on January 9, 2026.
Many conservatives, both inside and outside of politics, feel this kind of heated rhetoric is firing people up to a point where they are taking action against immigration officers, like the man in the video who spit on an agent, which could lead to further bloodshed.
