Kid Rock says his relationship with President Donald Trump has cost him corporate opportunities and invitations to late-night television, but he has no interest in backing away from his beliefs. The musician named Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon while describing shows that once welcomed him. Discussing the consequences of speaking out politically, he offered a blunt response: “And I honestly, I don’t care.”
The remarks came during an interview with Fox News Digital published on October 21st, 2026. The conversation covered his political commitments and his music, including the faith-inspired album “Halfway 2 Jesus.” Discussing his experience in entertainment, Kid Rock described the professional opportunities he believes disappeared after he publicly aligned himself with Trump, including appearances connected to major sporting events.
Kid Rock began by addressing the business side of his relationship with the president. “My relationship with Trump, yeah, that canceled all the, uh, any corporate deals coming my way,” he said. He brought up the NFL as an example of the invitations he no longer receives: “I don’t really get invited to be part of you know things like the NFL or or things like that.”
The musician turned to late-night television in the interview published by Fox News Digital. He specifically named two hosts while discussing relationships he’d maintained over the years. “Or you know, there’s no all the shows that I was so friendly with over the years, from all the late night talk shows to my friend Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon. I don’t really get invited on there anymore.”
Kid Rock left open the possibility of returning to those programs, asking, “But who’s to say that won’t change?” He explained that he’d considered the potential consequences before becoming outspoken about politics. “I did think about this when I entered the political arena because I thought it was important for me to speak up for what I believe. Because you know, I put my country before pretty much everything except my family and God.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Kid Rock discussed being able to express his views without calculating how a radio station, corporate partner or television program might respond. He said he’d anticipated losing opportunities when he chose to become more outspoken. He also invoked the sacrifices of Americans who died defending freedom of speech while explaining why he values exercising that freedom himself.

The broader conversation also addressed his friendship with Eminem, who appears on “Halfway 2 Jesus” despite their political differences. Kid Rock identified Eminem’s attack on Trump at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards as a moment that tested their relationship. The two nevertheless remained friends and collaborated on the record, with Kid Rock acknowledging Eminem’s right to express his own views.
Kid Rock also traced a deepening of his Christian faith to attending Charlie Kirk’s memorial with his son. He said Erika Kirk’s public forgiveness of the man accused of assassinating her husband moved him to tears. Following that experience, he described praying more frequently and paying closer attention to his faith as he developed the album’s Christian themes.
