Kid Rock recently appeared on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle,” where he spoke about his home state of Michigan and its role in the upcoming presidential showdown between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. The famous rockstar ultimately concluded that if someone doesn’t vote for Trump, “you ain’t from Michigan.”
Host Laura Ingraham introduced the topic, calling out one of the biggest concerns facing Michigan: the Democrat-led electric vehicle agenda and its implications on the auto-heavy labor market in the state. “What do you think is going to happen in Michigan, though?” she asked. “I mean, your home state going to wake up and decide, no mas, we’re not going to kill our auto industry with EVs, and he’s going to win it.”
Kid Rock responded, confidently stating that he believes Trump will come out on top in the election later this year. The musician pointed out that many Michigan residents are “smart enough” to realize their employment is potentially at stake, emphasizing that his home state is going to “keep the industrial revolution alive.”
“Trump’s winning. Trump’s winning Michigan. I mean, the auto workers are smart enough to know that EVs mean you’re getting replaced with a robot,” the “All Summer Long” singer said. “They’re smart enough to know that. Everyone has Google.com.”
“They can search it, whatever, like they know that this is coming. You know, I applaud what Elon Musk is doing. I think that guy is a genius. But in terms of Michigan, we’re going to make cars where we’re going to keep the industrial revolution alive. And we might have to innovate and go past that where things are going now. Am I getting off base here?” he added.
Kid Rock continued describing the rich history of his home state, discussing the generations of families, including his own, that have lived in Michigan. He explained that many originally came to the state in search of a decent wage.
“Michigan is the melting pot of America. When people came from the South after, you know, the Industrial Revolution, the Civil War, this that and the other, and they stopped in Chicago, and they came to Detroit to make a living wage, this that and the other. They’ve stuck around. There’s been generations there, including my family.”
“I’m going to do the opposite. I’m going to do the opposite of Biden. I mean, if you don’t fight — if you don’t vote for Donald Trump, you ain’t from Michigan,” Kid Rock maintained. See footage from the interview below:
Kid Rock also applauded former President Trump’s playlist, which has received criticism from the mainstream media, while speaking with Laura Ingraham. The singer described Trump’s choice in music, stating, “It’s Awesome, Freaking The Best.”
“But man, he’s got so many good songs playing it’s like it’s a playlist I would play I’ve heard House of the Rising Sun. I’ve even heard Springsteen songs. You know, Elvis Elton John, and then there’ll be these patriotic tunes or whatever I would employ him. I think I told him I said, Mr. President, I said you know what you should do? You should just play the Star Spangled Banner, a different version of it over and over and over again. So we could just watch liberal tears fall like rain,” he said.
