In a furious battle of words and series of clever answers, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt battled with the press in a wide-ranging series of statements on the government shutdown, SNAP benefits, and mail-in voting, which she said President Trump intends to ban through an executive order.
In fact, not only did she batter Democrats for refusing to allow the Government to fund SNAP, she echoed President Trump’s assertion that California elections are “rigged” voting, citing fraud in universal mail-in ballots, including illegal alien votes. She confirmed the White House is drafting an executive order to ban mail-in voting and prevent fraud, asserting full legal authority.
In any case, Leavitt began her remarks by clearing up confusion about SNAP benefits. “The President just posted that they will only be given out when the radical left Democrats open the government, and not before,” she noted.
Laying the blame squarely at the feet of the Democrats, she added, “The recipients of these SNAP benefits need to understand it’s going to take some time to receive this money, because the Democrats have forced the administration into a very untenable position. We are digging into a contingency fund that is supposed to be for emergencies, catastrophes, for war, and the President does not want to have to tap into this fund in the future,” the White House press secretary declared.
Next, a reporter asked her to address Trump’s comments about mail-in voting. “Does the White House still plan to issue an executive order banning mail-in voting? And what legal authority do you have to do that?” a reporter asked.
Springing into action, Leavitt noted, “The White House is working on an executive order to strengthen our elections in this country and to ensure that there cannot be blatant fraud, as we’ve seen in California with their universal mail-in voting system.”
Clarifying the issues, she emphasized that this type of voting poses a significant risk to our election security. “It’s absolutely true that there are fraud, and there’s fraud in California’s elections. It is just a fact. They have a universal mail-in voting system, which we know is ripe for fraud,” the White House press secretary declared confidently.

Building on her previous comments, she effectively countered her opponents’ argument. The courageous press secretary said, “And if you want to deny that, I’m happy to provide you all of the evidence, and I’d be glad to send that to you after this brief. Rigged fraudulent ballots that are being mailed in in the names of other people and the names of illegal aliens who shouldn’t be voting in American elections. There’s countless examples, and we’d be happy to provide them.”
Trying to get a word in edgewise, a journalist asked another question: “As for executive action the White House is taking.” Interjecting, Leavitt answered, Yes, we are looking into that. And like any executive order, of course, any executive order the President signs is within his full executive authority and within the confines of the law.”
