Vice President Kamala Harris was recently called out by conservative users on social media for deploying what sounds to be a Hispanic accent. Harris has caught substantial criticism on the campaign trail for often changing her accent as she speaks to different crowds around the country.
During her speech in front of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, someone from the crowd shouted at the vice president, “We love you…” Harris replied, “I love you back!” with what sounded like some sort of Latino accent. The Trump war room account shared the clip and wrote on X, “Kamala debuts her fake Hispanic accent while speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.”
One user commented how, aside from being inauthentic, Kamala revolving door of accents is “insulting” to those who she panders to. “It is really insulting how she diminishes the intelligence of every audience by pandering with an accent. It’s belittling to them. I hope most see that her phony tactic to pretend she is relatable and pretend she cares just to grab a vote, is to devalue the voters,” they wrote.
Another person called out that Vice President Harris’ racial identity seems to evolve depending on who she is speaking to. “This woman has a serious identity issue wherever she goes she changes her speech. She was Indian now she’s black now she wants to be Hispanic. The only thing I get from this is fake,” they wrote.
“Last month she was mimicking southern accent. Today Hispanic. Tomorrow make her stand in front of Indian’s and watch her speak English with Hindi accent. It takes “practice” to be this weird,” another person said, echoing the same sentient. “If Trump did this, how would the media react? The crooked media is a real problem for America,” another user commented, pointing out that the media would probably attack Trump, likely labeling him a racist if he were to employ the same tactics.
Other users sounded off on the Democratic Party for its conduct over the past several years. “They rigged the election in 2020 and brought in Harris and Crooked Joe. The lobbyist, globalists, and opportunists passed billions of dollars if printed money. Inflation came, and now we had a coup, all to have a Marxist, token, and crazy candidate,” one person wrote.
Another person explained how such behavior is not necessarily unique to Harris, pointing out that many politicians do this to appear relatable to the audience they are speaking to. “Kamala Harris speaking at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Leadership Conference is a perfect example of politicians saying one thing to one group and another to others. Her attempt to connect with the Hispanic community rings hollow, especially when considering her policies,” they wrote.
However, they pointed out that you never see Donald Trump changing at all, as he consistently presents his authentic self regardless of who he is speaking to. “President Trump, on the other hand, has consistently demonstrated his commitment to putting America first, and that includes supporting Hispanic communities through economic growth and job creation. His leadership has shown that policies can benefit all Americans, regardless of background,” the user continued.
